My take on this is the Pope doesn't trust God to take care of the Earth, his own creation.

More like the Pope telling people to take responsibility for their lives and their home and family ... the same message i have heard from some of your gurus. There is none of this modern meme, "its all good", and we are in lock step with a determined future and can defer ultimate responsibility to "Source". I'm not sure why that crept into our thought patterns except as a grand excuse to be irresponsible.

the Pope's message here is the pertinent thing to me ... we should become responsible for our home and our interactions with each other. Whatever form that takes, it is not up to you or I to specify except for our own actions.

yes, that "The sun is where we get most of the Earth's heat" ... is trivially true.

But the green house gases which are produced by our industry are retaining more and more of that heat. That consequence has been scientifically proven.

That you refuse to accept that consequence seems to be a political rationalization for irresponsible action. It appears to me that it is you who are putting politics over science.

That several ice ages ended without man involved is common knowledge now. But it has no consequence for what we do now when we are more in control and responsible for the shit we throw in our environment.

You seem to be arguing against the Pope's call for us to be responsible for our lives.

I am for (pro) taking care of the resources available such as the air, water, dirt etc. Keep the the rivers as clean & un polluted. same with the rest. I have expressed this many times mentioned along with the name Gaia. CO2 is not a poison or a pollutant unless in a confined space. It is what the plants turn into their substance & what we and most vertebrates expel while breathing. All else is politics. TO yield the power to control CO2 to a UN body which can't even control terrorism & to a president who can't make a budget or won't & whose debt is 18+ trillion $$$$$ (beyond anyone's ability to imagine) is folly & futile & only a corrupt way to control human beings in the USA or the World.
