Just Because ...

Just because your gang interprets my symbols in any particular way as evil (or offensive) does not mean they are evil or offensive only that:
Your gang interpreted them that way!

Just because my gang interprets your symbols as evil (or offensive) does not mean they are intrinsically evil (or offensive) it just means that:
My gang interpreted them that way.

In any case:

Check it out the next time Christmas rolls around & see how many people get offended by Christian symbols on Christmas.

Well your first two sentences above are true to me.    That is just the way signs work, anybody can associate any symbol to any thing and get their social network to agree.  Other networks are free to disagree or even associate that sign to something else ... for example the Confederate flag.

Like it or not we humans gather in networks and agree to use similar signage.  It is easy to see how that facilitates communication and understanding and cooperation within that network.  It makes the group strong and capable to act.  Using signs of other groups  within that group does not work, feels wrong to the group, and the group will reject them as incorrect.

But in this modern world there are all kinds of groups interacting.  I think it is best to be tolerant of others symbols.  Using them incorrectly against another group can be quite offensive to that group ... it fights against our greater common logic.
OK then does your new found tolerance extend to this flag which many who fly it in the South just think of it as a symbol of southern culture & not the slavery-racism which is now being pandered & drummed up by the left & the twitterverse & the M$M.
What I notice is that quite a few people who preach tolerance get offended by some of the silliest things.  (Like flying an American flag on cinco dey mayo) The standard nowadays is "I am offended therefore it must not be allowed" PC bullshit! Some are offended by the 10 commandments being placed in a courtroom or building. There is an outrage industry, mostly lawyers, who get offended quickly to which I say " So what?" <<== Here's your sign!"
just because .... you claim or preach tolerance does not mean anything much more than you claim to & preach tolerance. It doesn't mean you are right or others are wrong or society is broken or any other shitI rather practice getting off the bandwagon of getting on bandwagons.

Well i am not saying that symbols do not have power ... in fact i am saying the opposite.  Note the quote below ...
source: Huxley

Since human beings respond to symbols as promptly and unequivocally as they respond to the stimuli of unmediated experience, and since most of them naively believe that culture-hallowed words about things are as real as, or even realer than their perceptions of the things themselves, these outdated or intrinsically nonsensical notions do enormous harm.

And so people and groups fight with symbols and propanda and political correctness ... perhaps today even more than they fight with their actions.   Disparaging someone else's symbols or political correctness, like you are doing here,  is part of that fight.

So, have at it bro, apparently you are on the opposite side from me.  Me, i prefer that there be less racism in the South.   What are you fighting for?
I AM NOT DISPARAGING OTHER PEOPLE'S SYMBOLS - IT IS YOU & THE m$m. Political correctness is just another meme & ploy to destroy the first amendment.

The first amendment is just words and symbols.  It is not actual being and action.
That's where you are WRONG! Maybe you & Obama think the Constitution is just words, but the Spirit which founded this country is embodied in the U.S. Constitution & it is all built around the being of FREEDOM.
For those who prefer kings & dictators dissent is not allowable - check out those countries who are mostly communist & or Islamic.
LET FREEDOM RING!

The more people agree to follow some words, the more powerful the connection.  It is the following of the words - that action itself, not the words which is the being.
Nobody is following words or agreeing to follow words. They are inanimate objects.  Some are inspired by the words of the linked song.  Some are capable of being inspired by the words in the US Constitution.  Some were inspired by the MLK "I have a dream" speech. Some today have forgotten the meaning of those words.
Some would like to see the inconvenience of the US Constitution limiting government destroyed.
Fuck them!

Well Dude, I lived & worked in Georgia ~ 5 years & never encountered racism as portrayed by you & other racism blaming lackies. My stand on racism has been consistent throughout the years. Some prefer a sort of reverse-racism however which burns flags & censors speech.

if you are actually interested in current black experiences in the South, i am sure there are many first person accounts available on the web and in books. Or maybe you could find an actual black person who lived there in recent times trying to get a good job.   Personally i don't think your own experience in Georga as a white man are helping you understand the black experience.

A network does not feel the same if you are not acting inside of it.  Trust me on that one.
Well, since Obama the black experience has been difficult except those in government. Somehow all the illegals flooding in seem to be getting the jobs. I am interested in the human experience - the rest is just more of the same old racism & victimization being spread by the race-bating industry.

well, don't you think that your being a white man in the South might have had something to do with your not experiencing any racism targeted against you?  Do you honestly think that Afro Americans are just imagining this?
Your racist suggestion is futile. I traveled on MARTA (like BART) & all over the Atlanta area & out into the country.  The only thing kinda strange is in Atlanta they had what was called a "Black Spring Break" which was more rowdy than the other ones along the beaches of Florida.  They occasionally targeted non-blacks for harassment.  I even served on a jury against a black cocaine dealer & excused myself since I believed in the "judge not lest ye be judged" thingy.  The defendent gave me a thumbs up after I walked out of the court room. There are shit-heads all over.  A Democrat x-KKK member Byrd of West Virginia was one of the longest serving senators.  Tolerance means that opposing views are just opposing views & censorship is not allowed by our laws.  I am an American!  Not an white-American, Afro-American, gay-american or any other hyphenation. I don't pander my thinking to identity groups!

Oh really ?   What does this symbol, "common logic", mean to you?  How is that different than how i am using it ... specifically?

Incidentally i am useing it in the normal english language usage ... "logic" meaning that which is, or is not believed ... "common" meaning by whoever humans are involved.  I am not just referring to your circle of friends in P2.
Common Logic - A synergy of Individuals.  Did you need to ask?  Why did you decide to stick it here?  There is no logic in what you are talking about.

Your ignorance of the AfroAmerican experience in the South is as stunning at your obliviousness to it ... a commen syndrome recently discussed here.
Apparently YOU have never been there & YOU are NOT Afro-American & claim shit. How stupid can you get.

Great ! ... your definition of the term "common logic" is actually better than mine ... which i had to struggle a bit to come up with.   So here is my same sentence, corrected, thank you ...
"Using symbols incorrectly against another group can be quite offensive to that group ... it fights against our greater synergy. "

Who is to judge ? That's the point. That's why this whole Just Because ... item exists. You being offended is just you being offended.

Ok sure .

Obviously none of us individually can answer "who is to judge" ... on that we are quite in agreement .

All i was pointing out is that there may well be an ultimate arbitrator of our action ... here i refered to that as "the greater synergy" ... elsewhere it has been refered to as God ... or Grace ... or Nature ... or maybe even Life itself ... or perhaps that which survives.   Obstructing others use of their symbols is to obstruct their very cooperation.  Does that not work against our greater synergy?
I don't know - sounds mostly like a frantic attempt to find other birdies & shift responsibility for your opinions to your Leviathan. See 99 ways to leave Leviathan (99 cents on Kindle).
