The difference between genius and stupidity is that stupidity has limits.

I'm ready to start pushing back against this, "there are no limits" meme that is so prevalent to new age thinking. thing is there are limits. it's just that the limits can be extended.

Seems to me that limits are set by the habit of what works. To extend that limit, one needs to implement something that works outside of what is currently working. People who are pushing the "no limits" meme want to be oblivious to what is working now ... and be oblivious to just how pervasive and vast that body of momentum actually is.

If you focus on limits you get to keep them. Why not focus on something else like possibilities.

Well sure, the story a person tells themselves is important and can actually influence their will. So tell yourself that you can do anything, and believe it! ... and focus on that as you do it.

... that will help you try something that you haven't previously.

Nevertheless, unless you actually do something which works beyond your normal behavior, you are in fact operating within your limits. Being oblivious to that fact is a grand excuse to move into LaLa land.

It is my contention that if you don't like today's politics then you are ignoring the fact the people do the things that people do. So if you are a member of the universal class of things called people then you are one of them doing what you do.

... well true, if you are a people, you will do what people do.

We are all trapped in our common human behavior. Try as you might, but what you do will be what people do, it can not be otherwise.

Yet things change ... and what people do ... and what you do changes and evolves. What people do today is not even hardly similar to what they did 2000 years ago. It is that very going beyond what people do which is the thrust of our human lives.
