Identity Groups

accountants, actors, Asians, atheists, bankers, black people, blonds, blue collar workers, business owners, Catholics, comedians, consumers, conservatives, entrepreneurs, entertainers, evangelists, foodies, farmers, gays, geeks, Greeks, Germans, hedge fund managers, homeless, home owners, Indians, Jews, lesbians, liberals, managers, marines, Mexicans, Muslims, police men, poor people, Protestants, rich people, red necks, reporters, rude people, sailors, transgenders, union members, veterans, white collar workers, white people, women,...

humans differentiate and distinguish themselves from generic human beings expressing their unique individuality or role in society. They bond with others like them, and they work together as a team.

Shunning "all identity groups in favor of just plain human beings" would be shunning part of human nature which distinguishes us from beasts.

But "shunning all identity groups" is not what conservatives actually do ... rather they shun only those groups against which they are biased. FYI i have bolded some of the groups against which many conservative pundants and politicians are against. Your peculiar biases will, or course, vary.

I'll update the list above whenever i notice an identity group being, either pandered to, or ragged against.

Pertinant cmments might related to which classes of people should (or should not) be included in my off-top-of-head list above ... and which are (or are not) targeted by conservitives. Also pertinant would be when the premises of this item, shown shaded, obtain.

But i didn't hear about identity groups until right wing pundits started ragging on democrats for supporting the groups that they were always disadvantaging (see bolded items in list). to me it is not a real force in politics ... rather it is just a argumentative distraction to it ... a RWG strategy ... like ragging on a candidate because they ran their own email server, or because they were not black enough. It is just a pejorative story told by a politician about their opposition ... then generalized and reified by idealists as some kind of tangible evil in which only liberals engage.

That said, if the government stopped advantaging and/or disadvantaging any class of people, then the egalitarian ideal would be achieved. But when you think about that in a practical manner, i'm not so very sure that it is even possible. A government must impose consequences to govern, and any consequences in and of their nature will advantage some and disadvantage others.
