Yep, automaticity is basically Pavlovian . That's what Bandler & Robbins used & called anchoring. Of course it can be positive or negative depending upon one's viewpoint - nothing in nature has preordained labels on it.

If it is totally Pavlovian, then it is learned ... or in Pavlov's terms, conditioned. My point all along is that automaticiy is learned (or conditioned) differently in each different person; and fires differently even in the same person from time to time. For example, i get no good feeling at all when i find you wrong and me right. Honestly, I do not.

Yeah, the protecting of the selfie is the qualia you respond to. PR has some interesting zen on anger, pain, fear & desire in CH23 of BofNK. Lots of stuff on the selfie etc. If you just read the TOC you would get more than I can explain here at fbi.

However, if the ego does not perceive any threat in sombody being right, and that meaning it was mistaken, then there will be no qualia to respond to automatically. In other words what caused the RWG response was an ego which had fallen into hypersensitivity to being found wrong. Which i do believe is standard psychology these days.

Anyway, whether you call it correcting or some other artful dodge or deflection, I suggest that you call yours something else besides the RWG - maybe Bozo's Munge & we will have no need to tangle or joust over it anymore.

Well to me, delving deeper into a matter is not provoked by my egoo, but rather by my curiosity. I think that the seminar you took with PR convinced you that any response at all that was not total agreement would always and automatically cause a specific qualia. But I remain unconvinced ... primarily because i experience all manner or other qualia there and do believe i am quite sensitive enough to my identity and my story that i recognize when it is threatened and when i need to defend it or more easily just ignore the attack.

I still think we are talking about 2 different thingies. BTW, Michael Hadley of TR fame was the one who first exposed the RWG for me. BofNK provided a lot of good guidance about self & ontology one small part sheds light on the RWG (not by name) mostly parts II, III & IV - the first half of the book. Once one masters the first half of the book there is little to argue with.
