Kinda like Andy Warhol only different.  There seems an emerging school of contrived ugliness for those who have no real talent for art.

here it looks to me that Art and true Semantic Representation ... aka fidenity ... are going in opposite directions.  Art not an expression of something, but rather existing for its own self, ... feels weird to me, that's all ... but i suppose i could get into it.  How is one to experience or interpret it?

here is your other recent usage of contrived ...

anyway back to the yogi's meme.

i'm thinking it is the other side of this meme looking from good to good rather than good to bad.
Another one of those Contrived Platitudes ?
... doesn't seem "contrived" to me ... just a psychological phenomena recognized and represented in language.

i'm just trying to grock this new new destinction that you are using.  Does it just reflect you discovery of the facebook page Contrived Platitudes ?

what is the big difference between contrived and created? ... why your sudden hyperawareness of the contrived?
You can look them up in the dictionary. (*)

well i know the dictionary definitions.  i don't know what distinction you are refering to  by calling something contrived ugliness rather than "created ugliness".  everything that man creates could be called contrived ... but we usually reserve that stigma for something that doesn't ring true ... for example, we tried to created ugliness but it didn't really work as such ... hence it was contrived to be ugly but came off as just stupid.
