wiki references to empty rooms
The wish is that buttons appear in empty rooms indicating that if one clicks on the button one will be on the add screen ready to make a button to fill that room.
... these "forward loking references into the future" are, of their nature, "un-navigatable". These are like error code 404 on the web. It goes to Tim Berners-lees's brilliance that he did not worry about the page not found "bug". They are to be embraced and not feared.
However it is a current bug
that a reference to a deleted item dereference to a unrelated item see [title item reference goes astray on deleted item].
Yet the beet goes on ...
There should be clear distinction between ...
- tag rooms - just go to add, the default tags should take care of it see Hanging Out in Tag Rooms
- title rooms - put the title from the url into the add title box
- group rooms - ?

The only bug I can find is that sleeve-job references don't give a user more clues as to why the room is empty. That's more of a wish than a bug & speaks to that empty room message as somewhat ergonometrically un-navigable.

There should be clear distinction between ...
- landing on an empty tag, title, or group room which is waiting to be filled; and
- landing on some item that is yet to be wirtten, or
- landing on some item that was deleted, or
- landing on a private item.

Well WikidPad which i used to use locally till i got fastblogit has a very irritating
behavior in that it creates a frame whenever you use a camel case word, whether you ever intend that to be a frame or not. These junk up the space.
What wikis have you used where forward references are handeled better than they are here ?
Bear in mind that the possibility still exists for clicking
on any empty room to create an item that by default is tagged into that room.

I think a sleeve-job emotlet should be inserted before your so-called forward looking references just so that the unsuspecting user doesn't chase it.
... Shirley, you jest
. Do you actually expect the system to do retrievals for each reference to check it's viability prior to displaying it on a page ?

More like the author should have some consideration for his viewers.

Horseshit ! I point to the future all the time with the intention of those rooms being filled. Many times i find them already filled. Sometimes i go back and edit in the light of finding more precise references. There is a long precedence of doing that in a wiki. It is creative behavior rather than something to be shunned.

Doah! it's a wish, not a bug.
