Because your head was blocking the emission!

I’m sure it was real to you … being that close to it.

Funny angel – shouldnt’ any item I post show up in the news stream?
nathan@fbi 2015-12-22 14:20:41 [item 19342#38809]
Where do you think I saw it to reply on it from if not the news?

Your own posts don’t go in your own news of course. That would be more of that clutter you are always complaining about now wouldn’t it.

Then the original post should show up when I sign in to a new group, eh?
Yep. I have been moving around through groups constantly while testing. I see that all the time. I see my own tweets from other groups.

If your thinking I should leave the password if it is incorrect that is just silly. First, you wouldn’t know what was what if they are all just dots. Second, then the next guy who came along could play around with your password and try and hack it. Your the one who’s first complaint about the new system when you arrived was that you could see your password as you typed it.
You could at least leave the login dialogue up with the group name in it.

Oh, well can’t put my finger on it yet – something strange there.
BTW it is a bit penalizing to restart the group sign on from scratch if I misspell the password.  On my kindle it is real hard to get it correct the first time. UC/LC/Numbers & other characters.
nathan@fbi 2015-12-22 14:32:29 [item 19342#38814]
What are you talking about?
All password changes require double entry and are checked.
mark 2015-12-22 14:34:14 [item 19342#38815]
If I try to sign into a group & mispell the password it barfs & I have to reclick the sign in on the user dialogue.   I’m not changing a password.
nathan@da 2015-12-22 14:36:59 [item 19342#38816]
Not having that experience. At Seth’s request, I prefill both the author and the group every time if you are already logged in. Do you have cookies turned off or some other high security on in your pad?
seth 2015-12-22 14:48:05 [item 19342#38820]
well now, after seeing this sign on work on several different devices, i am not so very sure that we shoud prefill the group  … that causes a lot of extra keystrokes to switch groups.   so if you want to start that field blank, it is fine with me now.

now the author field … im inclined to say fill in from the last usage … changing person names should maybe come with a bit more effort.

now the password could be prefilled if the compter cookie is alread authenticated to the site … that happens on a lot of sites … Fedex now notably … i like that … but it comes with a hazard.

incidentally i think that signing in and out of groups is groaning to go away when we have user profiles and the user is granted privileges in several different groups.  then on a new post there would be a pull down which you could decide which group to post a new item in.

try at least leaving the dialog up after a passsword fail & maybe get rid of the user & the password attempt.
nathan 2015-12-22 14:49:49 [item 19342#38821]
Okay. Maybe I see what you are asking. Your not signed in anywhere yet, so you don’t have info for me to prefill. I could, in that case, save and restore the user and group you tried. That would be okay, just not the password. But it still should go through leaving the modal dialog for various reasons and make you bring up the dialog again. That’s easy on the kindel right?
mark 2015-12-22 14:56:17 [item 19342#38826]
Actually, I was already signed in to another group & wanted to switch groups & failed mystyping the password & had to go through 3 or 4 interactions to finish.
You’ll get better at it. I have faith in you. Or, you’ll choose more kindel friendly passwords.  Now that you can change them.

Done. Group no longer filled on sign in.

Mark’s complaint is valid … but for various reasons now is not the time to address it. He will get better at kindel sign in over time … and maybe choose easier passwords.

Maybe the customer should choose less challenging passwords to make it easier to fit your software. … just saying.pondering
Has nothing to do with this software. Has to do with your kindel. Talk to Amazon. I can type very complex passwords just fine in “this software” on my devices.

i’m wondering if mark’s prob with  sign on on the kindle is related to my prob with  sign on to the ipad pro
mark 2015-12-22 17:21:04 [item 19342#38855]
nope – the keyboard on the old kindle is very retarded.
does it force the first letter in the group to be capatilized?
