NetMesh: Light-Weight Digital Identity (LID)

A family of quite simple, but powerful personal digital identity protocols that empower individuals to keep control over and manage all aspects of their digital identities.

The LID? protocol can be easily supported by a variety of software and computing environments (see LID? implementations). By supporting the LID? protocol, people, organizations, websites, networks, things and software agents can securely identify each other and conduct identity-related transactions, without having to rely on an third party.

  • LID? is a mechanism for single sign-on (SSO).
  • LID? lets REST resources authenticate each other and thus enter into a trust relationship.
  • LID? makes vCards always up-to-date, and gives them better privacy features
  • LID? is a foundation for social networking.
  • LID? enables authenticated messaging and blog comments.
