Looks like as of Mavericks and Windows 7 all the major browsers support unicode emoji so might as well use them. I had been holding off because I was not sure who could see them. But it looks like anyone not still using stone knives and bear skins can. ?

On Mac, just put keyboard and emoji viewer on your menu bar and then you can use them anywhere. From “System Preferences” do this. ???

According to the sources, yes. On all browsers since Windows 7. And all Mobile. Chrome was the last to get it but has it now.

so these end up as what kind of characters?   … do they share all over the web?
⦿▶︎??? … hmm i wonder if the tool bar set is anywhere here
Yes. They are unicode. They work nearly anywhere as long as the operating system and/or application has been upgraded with current unicode tables … and virtually all browsers for the last couple of years have.
