hmmm …

i could put a form in the “HOMEMESSAG” banner … which can be activated or deactivated right off of the maintain home page … now containing a construction message
the form would submits to program that would
- write the email in the email table
- make a special customer with that eamil addr
- check whether alreadt used one
- somehow create a coupon that goes in the customers card and gives the bonus [* the hard part]

* we dont have a one time use coupon, that coupon method needs to be programmed… in a already very complicated program.
* i am not sure i ever made a coupon that works just for one customer, one time, and does so verifiably – that is a whole complicated path that needs to be thunk out in a very complicated program that is working perfectly.
* customer need to sign up with the same email – she might get confused and use a different one and then it becomes a customer service complaint

still need to think if this is worth the extra programming just to build up a database of people who have never ordered yet.

interesting to not that bits and pieces is using a third party to deliver the promotion.

i can do this too … send a email that has a promo code in it already … that totally simplifies the delivery of the coupon … and most of that is already programmed

You yourself said not long ago, when we were cleaning up the inodes of old mailings, that mailings are one of your important sources of revenue. All the marketing I have heard says the same. That a verified and pre-demographed email address is the most important single asset a business can acquire.

Now if only Speak had a API structure instead of spaghetti code …. humm. What if the template for the structure already existed? What if this were the fist quad command to be included in the API? Just wondering.
