New spell checker

This one might be better. Seems faster and not as clumsy and so far no cursor jumping around.

We’ll give it a try for a while and see!

Does I’ll work here?
How bout smart quotes “like this”?

Added a scientific dictionary. Now can spell Agustin and other cool things.
Legal and medical dictionaries are also available … but they do add processing weight.
Well see how the science one does weight wise.

This is new. Your i’ll ‘s apostrophe is html code. How did you make it?
Topanga of group da 2016-03-04 06:47:46 [item 20296#47925]
Oh, cool. I can make one too!
The autocorrect plugin and the new spell checker must not be playing nice.

How bout does I’ll work in a comment?
and “auto quotes”?
Topanga of group da 2016-03-04 06:50:36 [item 20296#47928]
What happens to I’ll and i’ll in a thread?
Topanga of group da 2016-03-04 06:52:04 [item 20296#47929]
Okay, it's not actually the auto quote, it is the misspelled lower case one that doesn’t work.

You see i’ll not be what I’ll think I am.
Topanga of group da 2016-03-04 06:55:02 [item 20296#47930]
So then maybe I fixed it. i’ll see about that!
Yes, now it is fixed.

Report any further html character codes appearing in text please!

for those who habitually ignore the spell checkers perhaps a pause upon save might be appropriate with maybe a wtf? message. laughing

You wouldn’t find that presumptive and controlling feeling on SeriTD’s part?
MR of group mark 2016-03-05 10:24:04 [item 20296#48057]
Still not doing SeriTD, but maybe just a flash picture as mentioned somewhere else might be helpful . Obviously something a user should be able to turn on/off like the irritating chirp in their profile.
Topanga of group da 2016-03-05 10:35:03 [item 20296#48065]
So then why don’t you turn that irritating chirp off Mark?
MR of group mark 2016-03-05 10:36:56 [item 20296#48067]
I do!
You do it by asking SeriTD to do it for you or you do with the rest of your computer?
I gave SeriTD the ability to do that for you this morning and even <hint> <hint>’ed to you about it in 3 places in the news.

incidentally even tough i have the spell checker selected in my profile now, it seemed that it didn't always come up … instead i got some baffling side menu which i know our novices will not understand …. but omg …  it is coming up now smug … kudos, or no kudos … you decide laugh
Topanga of group da 2016-03-05 10:30:05 [item 20296#48062]
The new one is “nanospell”. Is that what you have selected? Been working well for me. I haven’t tried going back to scayt yet from the menu and I don’t think “no spell checker” works right at all.
seth of group seth 2016-03-05 10:33:38 [item 20296#48064]
nice to know.

to be honest with you i just now figured out what Smartsiri is saying here …. she is saying that she has no suggestion for the misspelled word.    i wonder if others will always be recognizing that is what she is trying to say.

Mark, did you?

Incidentally, the “Add to Personal Dictionary” is working very well indeed … kudos Smartsiri !!
MR of group mark 2016-03-05 10:41:30 [item 20296#48070]
like I said somewhere else I don’t bother with Smartsiri or SiriTD or ??? I don’t have Apple & don’t use a talking cellphone. I did a brief search for Windows 10 to see if something like that was there & it is called by another name. My eyes still work & probably for a while longer so don’t need the cross-talk. smug
Topanga of group da 2016-03-05 10:43:16 [item 20296#48072]
That’s her name. I don’t mind if you don’t call her that, but if you are saying you refuse to listen to talk with her name in it just because her name is in it, that’s a strong and interesting choice.
Did you digest the fact that I don’t have a voice response mode going here or is SeriTD something else? The rest is your imagination, dude!

Mark, we are just talking about the spell checker that is running now in the RTE box.   When it determine a misspelling it underline the word, giving you a chance to correct it.   Are you using that?
MR of group mark 2016-03-05 11:36:55 [item 20296#48091]
I use it all the time.  Haven’t needed a change since fbi1 or any other Internet inputs like gmail etc.  A specialized vocabulary dictionary might be nice for those who have specialized domains; maybe even a #hashtag one for twits. rose
seth of group seth 2016-03-05 11:39:48 [item 20296#48093]
hmmmm …. the one at fbi1 would have been provided by your operating system.   This one is provided by fbi2 right in the RTE box.   I guess the latter overrides the former.   Is that true, tigger?
Yes. This RTE actually edits HTML itself at the HTML level. Not text. So browser based spell checker does not work. Requires special ones that can navigate HTML.
