Invisible characters found in editor output.

Here are the ones found so far.

hex javascript action
U+200B \u200B invisible remove
U+008B \u008B invisible remove
U+00A0 \u00A0 space

p.s. aren't markdown tables cool?

And here is how you make this simple markdown table. No fuss, no muss.

| hex | javascript | action |
| --- | --- | --- |
| U+200B | \u200B | invisible remove |
| U+008B | \u008B | invisible remove |
| U+00A0 | \u00A0 | space |

And lookie there. I can even talk about the making of the table right in markdown!

Now if it were a big table with lots of columns then the table gui in the RTE editor is probably easier to use. But for a simple little table like this? I can type it straight in way faster than I can make it in the gui. And I can use either to edit it later … like if I want to insert a bunch of columns, I can just use the RTE to do it.

this thought is 100% markdown therefore 100% RTE compatible

yes might be nice for code-jockeys when used small/short tables – it is not something I do frequently nor am I likely to remember the syntax unless I do.

What I might have some use for is a template to structure my group choy hexagram stuff.

Yes, the day you write in Markdown, even though it is your namesake, will probably be a chill day in heaven.

But anyway, lots of possibilities in templates. Imagine how it would look and work and mock one up as close as you can get and then write details about how you would work with it and I'll see if it would be a good match for something.

I'm actually looking for things that will find the bounderies of the current implementation so I know if the foundation is finished or not.

Some of what you write reminds me of platforms I used 10+ years ago such as Twiki & FitNesse for test harnesses, in the days when wikis were evolving.  Twiki is still. Remember I started UnhackTheBrain in one. Content & imbedded comands & behavior right in the same place. Of course nowadays Wikipedia is the most famous one outside of code people & QA. cool

Yes, I can see that.

For instance, Fitness uses both commands like this …

!contents -R2 -g -p -f -h

and tables like this …

|eg.Division|
|numerator|denominator|quotient?|
|10 |2 |5 |
|12.6 |3 |4.2 |
|100 |4 |33 |

And both of those are pretty darn close! Good thinking often arrives at the same design (because all is connected in the multiverse).

My arguments are much more human friendly, like date reverse instead of -R2 -g etc, and the tables and such come from Markdown, which is a popular alternative writing format, and in which I wrote this comment and much easier than I could have done it int the RTE considering the mixes of styles and all the cursor marking and going back and forth to the style menus I would have had to have done in the RTE.

I wonder if Fitness would have any value in testing FBI? Did you ever use it?

Presumably I could do full testing of the site via either the new API or by direct loading of single thought pages. I wonder if Fitness allows using jQuery to analize pages?

At the time I was testing UML diagramming software – Fitnesse was cumbersome .  I ran recording software behind a network of computers so that exactly what happened was repeatable. My comments are mostly about turning fbi into a wiki (a negative in my book) with all the structured text & typed language elements – not copying their specifications.  Wikimedia Commons is a nice hub of the Wikipedia development stuff. Twiki was the more advanced wiki of the time. TheBrain & CyberMind on the Web & Cinderella software is the direction I prefer. But then, I use it mostly as a journal & note-pad instead of paper. Anyway you already knew that.

Okay cool. It does look a bit cumbersome.

I don’t have any plans to make FBI wiki like. Markdown is simply an alternative writing style for anyone who want’s to use it, but no one has to and the RTE is the default. However, I was planning to added additional editor surfaces for other things like floodles and memes and even had the idea of a projective geometry editing surface. Nearly any possibilities, but none would interfere with plain old wysiwyg editing of basic blog like pages. And live references, like your ming, are just an extension … use them or not is anyone’s choice. I’m adding the ! at the front exactly so that they won’t ever get in the way of basic text writing.
