there might be a way for use to identify local host url's in the about url box and supply a better anchor text. any suggestions for what it might say ?

Could you copy the file ..whatever../fastblogit.com/phpinfo.php into your localhost web root, hit it with your browser, and paste here what _SERVER["HTTP_HOST"] contains ?

I'm not sure what you are looking for.  I pasted the uri http://localhost:1234/ in the about box.  Here is the text of the view source on that uri .
