Like me, Nathan Weinberg has been using del.icio.us to fill in his blogging with links. However, now he's seeing that it can have a big downside. For one, it means his posting frequency is way down. Second, he's concerned that most people skip the lists of links. I have often wondered the same. Would you rather me blog each item individually or continue with the daily link dumps?

... one advantage of blogging each individual item is that you can tag each individual item and thereby can easily recall it. Steve does that at del.icio.us separately from his blog, then repeats his daily blogging list in his blog for the sake of his audience.

My blogging and my bookmarking are all one and the same process because i have full folksonomy recall at fastblogit

; and now it is even one click hyperlinked to the large common del.icio.us tag rooms; look to the left of the button bar in the room rubel. I use del.icio.us now just to reach out to a larger audience with a post that i think is of interest to others. We have totally different approaches. If anyone wants to see what sites i focused on in a day, well they should just read all of my items in group seth for that day or subscribe to my feed at http://fastblogit.com/seth/feed/ ; and they get the whole shebang in context. It's not that long of a list, i usually don't post more than a half dozen items per day.

But pehaps the larger audience missess out on my taggings here at fastblogit, and hense the $wish

tag on this item. Fastblogit should automatically update all taggings at del.icio.us.

But to answer Steve's question directly. I do read read tag lists, and i read his. If it wasn't there I would miss it.

should i make a kind of tag list as a summary of my day's musings too
