Gumbo

I made a huge pot of gumbo this time.  We are going to get 8 servings from it.  A rough estimate of the cost of that, even including depletion of stock items, is $60.    Which means that the cost per serving is approximately $7.50 per plate, including biscuits.

yesyesyesyesyes.   Me, i think the shrimp was a might mealy … maybe i marinated it too long in soy sauce … and maybe i used a might bit too much oilive oil … bit oily to my taste.   I used red pepper flakes for heat … that worked well.

okay … someday ← thanks for asking smug

i have however waved at many recipes of same in gumbo .. one day maybe i will list my prefered variation.  i do hesitate a bit on publishing a recipe for gumbo in particular … wouldn’t it be like publishing a recipe for cooking a life ?  ← just saying … gumbo is kind of like that.

That said i think i want to publish a new recipe for biscuits  … a new stratagem has emerged.
