Composing Kontext

I call all the particular thoughts, feelings, actions, memories, habits,  and sensual inputs that impinge on my consciousness in any particular moment my “Kontext” (henceforth called “K”) .   I’ve used the German word here to distinguish what i am talking about from the word “context” which is used mostly just to refer to language.  K includes far more than just the language words that may be present to a moment.     But K is similar to the context that an author puts in my imagination by telling me the particulars of  her story … for it is those particulars composing the context of  her story, which  provoke my imagination to vicariously live the story.   Composing context is how exciting stories are told … composing K is how exciting lives are lived.  That is the difference. 

An author has almost total control of the context of her story.  She puts in it the very things that must be present in my consciousness to live her story in my imagination.  My life works the same way.   The K that gets established, or gets composed in each moment, provokes what i experience.  However, unlike a composed story, the author of my K … which is me … does not have total control of the context.   Now there are some who claim they do have total control of their K and hence what they experience.   I am telling you, that me, i do not.

Let me analyze this control in parts:  first thoughts.   I cannot predict, no less control,  the thoughts which occur to me … rather they seem to be randomly selected from the connections in my mind which had been already established;  or they are provoked by current sense perceptions, and the circumstances of my actions in the world.  Which is not to say that i have no control of my thoughts at all.  I certainly can focus on things and ignore other things and move within my external environment composing the Kontext of connections within which my thoughts will occur.
