Looks like a gay obama-like wet dream to me. thumbs uplaughing

This picture is so big in the popover that I can only see half of it on my laptop screen and can’t scroll to see the rest when the thought is small.

Seth says
#Done

Si says

Si says
#love that #done juice Tina Fey!

Mark de LA says

Seth says
I am #curious , re your #presence here,  : why do you keep coming to this thought?

Si says
I do not. It is the same as why you keep going to that other thought. Your laptop is probably upon it. I believe I have a incognitio browser tab open to this thought somewhere in the stack of 30 or so browsers tabs open in 5 or more browsers on this computer.

So, when I am not active in a tab, #SeriTD dreams the thoughts in all my open browser tabs, including this one.

I see your tabs on your computers do the same when you are away.

Seth says

Seth says
null you have 30+ browser tabs open to fastblogit … i rarely ever exceed 5 even including my desktop, laptop, and iPhone.

#btw, what thought do you perceive that i “keep going to” … still #curious.

Mark de LA says
I don’t remember much more than one of you folks used the thought for #TrumpBashing
#IDC – I didn’t ask the question.  I give only a small #flyspeck for an answer.

Seth says
why wonder at all …. just click on the tag room and see.

Seth says
well i used #TrumpBashing just like i used #ObamaBashing … i know when somone, even myself, are #gossiping about a politician.

Mark de LA says
If it is politics it is #Goosip (..ing)

Seth says
… except when it is the practice of “the art of the possible” null

Seth says
i think that #SeriTD should say that a browser instance that is not active for some reasonable amount of time … say eg 1 hour … be deemed abandoned and not count for a #presence of the person in this world.

Si says
It does not count. If you notice, it shows “away” in the browser window. But the away windows kind of randomly cycle as to which one is the “last seen location” as they periodically check in with #SeriTD.

Also, when I send out a update, everyone around wakes up to load the update and then goes back to sleep.

Seth says
thanks for the explanation.

my point is that it does not seem to show the human #prescene to me.   next time it happens, i will look more carefully and see if i can imply the absence of the person by the data given on the screen.

Mark de LA says
That’s not what is happening these days.  It is more persuasion to vote or not via negatives, fear & lies.null

Si says
It is very simple. When the person icon is bright yellow, the person is there. When it is white, the person is not.

Seth says
… how do you know it is not happening in places to which your are not attracted?

Seth says

null well yours is white now … did you run away from your computer right after you made the comment above?

Is mark away even thought he apparently is writing something?

Si says
Yes most likely to both. I did go away, back to the code window, right after writing that and was there for a while. Mark could easily have an editor up but have gone to the bathroom or out to look at his view. I check these things often and they have been quite reliable. The activity duration is fairly short, about 10 seconds of zero activity (no keys or scrolling or clicks etc). I prefer it short … it better tells me when someone is likely to actually be there looking or not.

Si says
There is no way to detect other computer use from a browser. When someone goes to another tab on another site etc, the current tab on a #TD starts counting down to away.

Si says
Yes mark. My observation of the people around me, and I get quite a diverse crowed here at the campground, is quite different than what you are reporting. You will only see what matches your vibration of course. You will get up from the computer, or the TV, etc., to go to the bathroom, switch channels, whatever, when alternate viewpoints come along that don’t match the story you are generating. You can only actually experience that which matches however tight your expectation is.

Seth says
well i usually am still focused on something more than 10 seconds after the last time i clicked on the screen … so #SeriTD is not giving you an accurate reading of whether i am #present.

Seth says
… er, except if you can let what you experience from outside actually change what you call “your vibration” or your beliefs.    In other words, don’t insist that your beliefs shape 100% of your experience.

Mark de LA says
& the sultan of Brunei (one of the richest monarchs in the World) living in his own bailiwick probably thinks that the world is all gold, lavish celebrations & pussy. null

Si says
The beliefs do shape it 100%. The incoming stimulus from others is the raw material, the clay. The beliefs select the shape those stimulus will become. This is so easy to see … two people can sit side by side on a roller coaster and one can throw up and have the most horrible experience and the other can have the time of their life … same stimulus of other, but the beliefs about roller coaster experiences shape the whole experience very differently … all of it down to the last tiniest bit of awareness of the experience that can be known to each individual … is shaped by the belief structure of each.

Si says

Si says
Yep. That’s how it works. null

Mark de LA says
& then some people just #MakeShitUp null

Seth says
i think we agree that beliefs shape experience.  the question is how much freedom they have to shape in various people at various times.  to use your mataphor if the raw clay comes in shaped like a horse,  and your beliefs are that you expect a elephant, will you always experience a elephant ?   When you say your beliefs are 100% in control of the shape, then i hear that you must be seeing the elephant.

Si says
Yes. If my beliefs are 100% aligned with an elephant, then all the multiverse can send me out of all possible otherness is an elephant. That is how it works. It is not easy to get that 100% aligned about something, but anything over 50% will make sure that you will be trending in that direction. Sometimes, it could be a horse wearing an elephant standard on it’s back. If elephant is in my vibration over 50%, it will be there some how, some way.

Si says
I #MakeShitUp all the time. My life is full of it!

Seth says

Seth says
← this is true … good for you … at times bad for the shit! nullbroken heart

Si says
The shit just needs a reframe. Even shit can #MakeShitUp too!

Seth says

Si says
I am most likely not if there is no activity in that long of a time. But it matters not, she blips yellow whenever you do something, and that tells me you are there, and when you are not doing anything, she tells me exactly how many seconds it has been (in the mouseover) since you did something … so I can decide on my own, knowing you, if you are likely to be there or not. It is a very expressive way to know. Any more automated way would just be a generalized guess. This way, you know all there is to know and can make your own best guess.

Seth says
well it took me about 2 minutes to read and then reread your last message and during that time i did nothing on the screen, not even moved my mouse.

Si says
Yes, and so? If you are doing nothing, then there is no way of any kind I can programatically detect you are there. So at least, the chat mouseover shows when you last did do something. That is all I can ever know … so I really am not sure where you are going with this.

Seth says
just trying to get the most sensual and realistic impression of others people’s precence in the mind space.

Seth says
just thought of something … i could see what my own impression looks like, maybe i could notice somthing that might help.   i guess i could open a window to myself from the

Si says
Well that is what we have. The most possible. Even FB does lots of guesses and is often wrong. We give you ALL INFORMATION AVAILABLE, and let you decide. The person flashes yellow and back often in response to real activity of any kind, and doesn’t stay yellow a long time to give a false impression, and the last known time lets you easily make your own best guess. That is the BEST that can be done. Better than most systems IMHO. I have been quite happy with it telling me when you are there or not.

Si says
Well, I really don’t know what tree you are barking up here. The user there status is really quite good and reliable. As good or perhaps slightly better than Googles, which is as good as it gets!

Seth says
assuming that you see the brief 10second flash … which in most cases i am guessing that i do not see that 10second flash.

Si says
I don’t get it. When you are doing anything at all, it is bright yellow constantly. If you do nothing for 10 seconds, then it is nice that it goes back to white.

Maybe the yellow just doesn’t show up for you well? Fore me it is glaring … when you are really there doing things, I am quite aware of it, and when you are just sitting, I can mouse over and see how long you have not been doing things, where you last were, and make my own best guess.

Seth says
okay … whatever …. i guess its perfect … no need to ever imporve it … forget i botherd you

Si says
… and the whole idea of the chat boxes and locations will change at some point. But that is something else. As far as how they work where they are, it is perfection. Look, I know when something is perfect, when it needs work, when it needs help from others, when it is really messed up, etc. I’ve been around. There is no reason not to construct my reality such that I know those things.

Doesn’t mean I know everything, just means that knowing how well I know a thing is part of what I have set up my reality to tell me. That’s all. My beliefs support it … and it happens.

Si says
#hmmm … what my eye keys on is the color change when someone comes and goes (has immediate activity) … but looking I realize that the “eyeball” also appears with the color change. I believe I added that way back when because I was not sure if the yellow “popped” for you like it does for me.

And of course there is the pen when they have an edit box up and the finger when they are typing in the chat box.

Seth says
the eyeball comming and going is pretty much perfect for now from my point of view.  i like it null

but  the yellow color change could be improved if it worked more like the red dot on the chat boxes on Facebook … they actually tell me whether somebody is active on the website … they don’t just flash on and off according to momentary activity.

Si says
Actually they don’t. That is the point. FB just has a much longer timeout. Several minutes. That’s all. Many times the “light has been on” but no one was still home for my peeps on FB. I don’t like that. I like actually knowing when someone is really doing something, not just a coverall that assumes that someone is there if it has still several minutes since they did something.

What we have that is so much better is the mouseover times. Those tell you how long it has actually been since someone did something. That is information that no one else gives … it is so much more active and accurate!

For instance. Facebook would have just been showing a light for the  … but I can see that it has been 3 minutes since the  at least tabbed through that window. That is so much better to know!  Also, I can see exactly where the  wizard was too! Now the wizard does wake up every time I push new software … but that is peculiar to development only.

Seth says
does the Facebook green dot tell us that the person has a Facebook window up?   For example i have one up,  mark has one up,  and you do not.  right?

Si says
I have several FB windows up right now, but I am not looking at them. The green dot tells you exactly the same ours does. Believe me, I researched all of this when I wanted to know as much as possible about when someone is there. The only difference is that their green dot has about a 5 minute timeout after the last activity in the window. Ours has a 10 second timeout, but the mouseover time adds much more info than you can get from theirs.

That is all anyone can ever know, the last activity in the window … unless you use live streams to connect the browsers, but that requires major server resources and is not worth it for just this … neither FB or G+ use live streams at this time.

Si says
Do you understand what I am saying about FB seth? Their light is an illusion. They have chosen a delay time that sates the most people most of the time. I have seen this for real. I have seen Natalie come in the room and open her laptop beside me and see her FB light come on. She then blitzes about 20 messages in 2 minutes or less (a blur even for me yes), closes her laptop and shelfs it, and is half done cooking dinner before the light goes out.

With our system, you know everything there is that is knowable. You know exactly when they were last doing something by the timestamp, and you see when they are really doing things by the yellow, or the eye, going on and off often. We don’t create the illusion someone is there just to pacify people in to thinking we know more than we do.

Seth says
Yep i totally get it.   I just think that the 5 minutes is a better guess of the #presence of the human than the 5 second one you have chosen.   I base that upon my own usage and the fact that if i see a green dot than i can usually hail the person with a direct chat.

Si says
Well see ours is simply designed differently. The flashing of the eye, color, indicates activity. As long as it is solid or flashing, then someone is there doing something. FB does not let you know about activity. The time is indicated by the last activity time in the mouseover. That way you can make your own judgment, which can thus be different for your different observed habits of different people. Someone like Natalie, who is on and off again in less than 5 minutes, I can judge accordingly, and someone like you, who is often there, either directly or by mobile device, I can judge to be there for even longer than 5 minutes. FB also does not supply that information. They simply shotgun it at about 5 minutes … which happens to match well with the people you communicate with perhaps, but not so well with the ones I do. FB lets me down quite a lot with that long delay.

Ours gives you everything the FB one does, and a lot more too, by working differently.

Seth says
You seem to be repeating what you already said.

I love how the eye flashes on for true activity null.  It is an imporvement over facebook.   It tells me when sombody is doing somethig activily and that if i move my mouse over the bar i can see more info about where their attention was.

I think that if the man would stay yellow 5 minutes after activity, it would give a better guess and therefore a better impression of whether the person was still there reading or writing in the domain.  Then an extra mouseove would not be necessary for the extra qualia.

You could set it up to 5 minutes and we could see how that affected our qualias and the extra movements of our fingers … or not, just as you will. You can always set it  back to the fleeting 5 seconds.

Si says
Okay seth. You finally said it. I was waiting for that

Your real reason is “movements of fingers” or in other words, you don’t want to change your habits and mouse over the chat box. Personally I prefer that. But no matter. I re-arranged things so that your new placebo light is 3.5 minutes. The eye still comes on and off with activity as it did. The timestamp in the mouseover still gives the real important info about a person. And now an additional feature turns the whole chat header gray (instead of orange) if the persons browser is offline (hardly something we really need to know, how long they have been away is all that really matters, but what the heck, the info is available so it jigs for it).

You will probably say this all “works so much better” for you. For me, it works the same, since all I care about is the timestamp … that is the info that really tells the useful story about someone. The fact that it will work better for you is an artifact of your habits … and your willingness to be pacified by a placebo and subjectively “feel that illusory connection”.

But it is all belief anyway … so here you go. Your suggestion is accepted (well, 3.5 instead of 5 minutes but that’s graciously more than 10 seconds)

Si says
p.s. I put the colorblind simulation app back on my iPhone and used it to tweak the css on the chat box so the lights should be quite a bit easier for you to see now too.

Seth says
yep, works better null.   now i don’t need to move the mouse down to see that you are most likely still around …. which i kept haveing to do needlessly … #LOL

Si says

Si says
I never had to do that. If the light was flashing, you were around, and if I wanted to know exactly how long, then I mouse over. But, with the colorblind app, I did see how the light hardly popped for you, very subtle, while it was an unmistakeable eye-catcher for me.

Seth says
i only have troubles detecting similar shades of greed from red … never have a prob with the changes on the chat … #LOL

Si says
Yes, well I set it to your type of colorblind, and yes, I can still see the change … but it is like various shades of gray compared to what I see. Yes, I do see that you see colors with the app … but there is much less popping of colors. Even, as you have said, the brown thought background is almost the same as the green group background … while for me they are like night and day, or blue and black in difference.

Seth says
but if it were me i would make it go from as many changes as interesting from bright to no head at all.  like fore example if a perspm hasnnt been around all day their head would go entirlely away.

Seth says

Si says
Cute. And surely doable with enough css, but I have no interest. Someone else can write that plugin.  The timestamp is all I care about. It tells the whole story cut and dry and is highly reliable.

Seth says

Seth says
yes fare more interesting fish to fry indeed null

Si says
Okay. Well this is #done. Enjoy guessing if someone is really there when you are to lazy to mouse over and see!
