Engadget, The Meetup

About: Thursday, December 8th at Neumo's

Picture 100 twenty something, mostly male, specmins of the "good to go" generation milling about Neumo's, a rave ready night club on Seattle's Pike Street fiddling with their cell phones and gizmos.  Me, i have Denise perched on a stool ... best and only seat in the house.  The hour wait in the rather chilly Seattle night had actually been quite exilerating.   Around 7:40 in this ordeal I polled the bouncer who said someone was expected to speak maybe around 8:30 but it was shortly after 8:00 that Peter Rojas and Ryan Block took the stage.  Then watching Peter's eyes flash as he talked about gadgets and dodged questions about operating systems was starting to make the whole ordeal almost worth it.  After all, here is the American dream come true ... work at home millionairs doing what they obviously love ...  running a blog supported primarialy by Google Ad sense ... talking about their toys.    They made a pile of them on the stage and proceeded with their give-away ... everybody taking pictures with their cell phones.
