p.s. Watched Tony Robbins’s “I am not your Guru” last night. It was amazing! (and he said the above too!)
Hey mark, didn’t you go to “Date with Destiny”?
What happened? Why are you not?
Yep, watched it when it came out. Did the first one ~ 30 people in group. I spent some time eliciting my values. Danced with TR’s wife at the time at his castle. The rest is my own business. You are not my guru either!
That is right. You are your guru. You only elected me to twist your arm when you are not living up to it.
– I am just enjoying my day.
Well then, don’t let my words disturb you … stay in your own business.
Kasan, a Zen teacher and monk, was to officiate at a funeral of a famous nobleman. As he stood there waiting for the governor of the province and other lords and ladies to arrive, he noticed that the palms of his hands were sweaty.
The next day he called his disciples together and confessed he was not yet ready to be a true teacher. He explained to them that he still lacked the sameness of bearing before all human beings, whether beggar or king.
He was still unable to look through social roles and conceptual identities and see the sameness of being in every human. He then left and become the pupil of another master. Then returned to his former disciples eight years later, enlightened.
