Probably should include them as well!

& you left out also that they had their heads up their own asses at the same time!
Which is always true for some value of "they"

Mark, can you honestly tell me that you believe anything Bush tells you now ?  Well, I don't. For me he has lost all credibility.
Well, just pretend that president Clinton was in office when this stuff had come out. How would you feel about the revelations.  In fact most of the stuff the media is getting orgasms about was started in the Clinton administration (does that change your point of view?)
Nope because it is just argumentative rhetoric.  The only point here is that I cannot believe anything that Bush says.  Can you?

Mark de LA says

The big lie was coined probably in Mein Kampf.  The left has no positive goals, programs or solutions to terrorism or al queda. Therefore they & their media dupes are running against W trying to propagate "Bush Lied" as their centerpiece hoping that they can impeach him (they were so successful with Nixon) and reframe the war on terrorism as the Viet Nam war. Lots of luck. I wonder if you would feel different if the terrorists decide next time to hit Seattle instead of New York.
BTW, It's your problem if you think people are lying. I tend to evaluate the content of what is said on a case-by-case basis.

... we've been here before. Bush's lies are well documented. If you fail to recognize them, then i will not be able to convince you here.

BTW, calling someone a liar is the weakest form of rhetoric - rarely does anyone become convinced that way (unless they already believe that way). (;-))

... whatever .   There is a certain stink of a dialogue that is going nowhere and this has that stink all over it

the right-wrong game is all over this one [see: uri http://fastblogit.com/item/1722/] (;-))
Yep ... and seeing as there is no action pending or possible from here, it is time to .
Well, that depends upon whether you want something more than just a zesty argument. Some say that the experience of being outside of the machinery for just a brief moment is like ecstacy - obtainable but a few brief moments in a lifetime

Another case of Bush lied, and thousands died.  Sometimes he lyes before the event to justify it, sometimes, as this video about Katrina suggests, he lyes after the fact to justify his own inaction.

What could you have done different & better.  "Brownie" was the one who had the job & was incompetant.  Everyone knew the hurricane was coming & could breach the levies, even I did (even if I have to admit to watching TV news). So you got a category 5 hurricane barreling down up on a coast. So the people in N.O. were stupid enough to live in a city below sea level where hurricanes frequent. So the power structure in N.O. & Louisiana spent funds on other things, being a rather corrupt at the state & local level. So the people were warned to leave & thought they could live through it.

As far as I know we can't yet STOP A HURRICANE !

The one thing that I think can be at blame is bureaucracy - one of the results of bigger government.  It was the congress & mostly liberals that demanded a central department (DHS) to coordinate all things "security". I don't think a hurricane is a security kind of thing.  Initially Bush resisted then caved in. Now we know he was right in the first place. There is a difference between being wrong & lying!

Having been in command in the military & been responsible for a ship's engineering department (in a war zone) with many levels of people reporting to me, I know that getting the right information is difficult at best. Monday morning quarterbacking, still with not all of the information, is the luxury of those who really don't have to do anything about a situation but love to act as if they know what to do about everything

Sorry, , the mantra of the left sucks - nobody seems to have a good solution that pleases everyone.  Come out with a positive solution & then think if you want to pay for it. Can it actually be done with all the regulations & lawyers getting their cut & being in the way. Double your estimate & then ask again. The problem is like trying to punch out a 2 ton marshmallow - it makes a slight noise and a slight dent but still stands there still oblivious.

source: Q-and-A Gets Rough for Rumsfeld
"Why did you lie to get us into a war that caused these kind of casualties and was not necessary?" asked Ray McGovern, a 27-year analyst.
I don't know what Rumsfield and Bush knew when they set the wheels of war in motion.  We probably will never know for sure.

Justifying a war to Congress and the American people must be extremely difficult.  Once the wheels of war are set in motion and  the "justification" starts falling apart , what do you do? ... what can you do? .... put blinders on?   Well no, not if the "justification" was the "real reason" ... no that would be the actions of a weak and foolish administration.  So what do we have here ... a weak and foolish administration, or is it more likely that the "justification" was a lie ... the lie being that this "justification" was "the reason".  Me, i'm charatable ... i would rather believe that Bush and Rumsfield are liars than to believe that they are weak and foolish.

source: Brett Arends has a different spin

So a husband comes home one night with lipstick on his collar and smelling of perfume. And in response to the inevitable question from his wife, he says, Of course not, darling! Does she believe him? The answer: Only if she chooses to.
So what do you choose to believe ?

Well maybe consider the source: McGovern is a member of uri http://www.counterpunch.org/vips07142003.html - selling books & collecting money on the lecture circuit. He benefits from whatever press he can get.
The one fact that nobody explains even slightly well is why Saddam Hussein, if he had no weapons of mass destruction, even though he used some on his own people,  was willing to dissemble, & confuse the UN inspectors at every turn.  Now either he was very, very stupid (because all he had to do was cooperate & he would still be in power & probably could have purchased nukes for his arsenal by now) or he managed to hide them in places like Syria or somewhere else.
McGovern was well aware of what sound bytes would be picked up by the mainstream hack media.
