From my research, I identified an event as a 7-tuple:

Hypothesis: An Event is a 7-ary relation:
Event(Agent, Action, Instrument, Object, Recipient, Method, Context)

I didn't do much modeling of Context, but I identified the need for at least a 5-tuple:
Context(temporalLocation, spatialLocation, abstractLocation, functionOrPurpose, efficacyMeasurment)

If I'm trying to map mine onto your drawing, my agent can be a who, the recipient can be a who, and the object can be a who or a what. I suppose even the instrument could be a who if you use one person against another.

Maybe mine would be Who did What to Whom/What using Whom/What (instrument/tool) with What Method for Whose benefit in What Context?

I think my Context encompasses your where and when and part of your how. Your why is inside both my purpose(context) and recipient. How seems a mapping to my instrument, action, and method.

This was only tangential to my research, though, so I'm no expert, and I have no clue if this would be at all useful to you.

Seth is the expert at translating into quads, so I'll leave all that to him.

Most mathematicians think I'm a sloppy hacker. Most hackers think I'm too theoretical. I don't fit in anywhere, so I must be a moderate, right?

I want to interact with move developers so that I'll commit fewer "assume a spherical sheep" offences.

Once you have answered the basic questions: who, what , when, where, why, how & a few others like IS? a basic journalist would have a story maybe a even a scientist or engineer. Now events map into super & sub events in a very complex structure. All of that maps into many to many relationships. I noticed that very few news articles could be combed for the basic pieces easily with AI or otherwise. It's a basic information extraction problem.

Of course i've always speculated, as you know, that anything that can be thought in language can be represented (and even perhaps computed) in quads. That is pretty much what Cyc was trying to do too. I haven't heard much about that lately ... Google seems to be taking a more stastical approach.

For example here is some of the stuff i was doing about 11 years ago when i was discussing things on the ontology group with Lisa ... these diagrams can be directly translated into quads. This particular mentograph expresses two different mind sets considering something similar to the predicament i mentioned in this frame.

I remember a proof that anything that can be represented in any length tuple can be translated to triples, so I'm sure that anything that can be represented in a tuple can be more easily translated to quads.

I spent some of my online time today trying to track down the relations in the Open Cyc ontology. I can't find any human readable documentation. They do have two tools available that will mine the ontology for free download, but I haven't done that yet. They also *sell* classes in how to understand and use Open Cyc. I'm not yet ready to give them any money, though.

“the big picture”, as you put it, is a #gestalt deep inside some particular individual … that is untill that #BigPicture gets #represent’ed and finds #resonance amoung a context of individuals.

I interperte your quest as being a search for a structure of a media in which to represent that #BigPicture such that it might gain even more attention and/or more #resonance.

I still don’t see why not to use what comments happen themselves as that media.

Well using the deatils of existance directly rather than dealing with them indirectly through a model has worked #swimingly for me whenever i actually can do it. I like direct … and eliminate unnecessary indirections whvever i notice that i can.
