testing mark's embed "script" ...

About: TNR - Steve Hilton - Swamp Watch - fastblogit

The embed script talked about in TNR - Steve Hilton - Swamp Watch
is here …
<script type="text/javascript" src="//video.foxnews.com/v/embed.js?id=5509862831001&w=466&h=263"></script><noscript>Watch the latest video at <a href="//video.foxnews.com">video.foxnews.com</a></noscript>

it will not embed here because , although the  embed editor shows it as follows prior to the publishing ….
but when this thought was edited the source HTML was substantially blank.

I think we can conclude that the embed editor here rejected the script.

perhaps their embed shoud have been nested in a iframe or something.  I expect that a programmer for foxnews did not project standard HTML5 embed code … but then i don’t know for a fact what standard they did not use, nor whether the problem is with a thiking domain not accepting something that shold be acceptable.

Mark de LA says
That’s why I posted the embed code. Which I can’t remove .

Seth says
yes i can see that.

You cannot embed <script> tags here at Thinking Live™ sites. If you could it would give you lots of nasty abilities to take over common feeds (containing your thought and script) with your own popups and ads and graffiti and junk like that. This is true of almost any site where the public can post. Proper embed code for a public site would use an <iframe> or other means that would isolate the content and scripts from the host site. We filter out <script> tags intentionally.
