a hierarchy of arrows (options)

Assume that each particular identity circle has a set of arrows (name,value pairs) that specify settings and options for that identity. 

Assume that we read in those arrows from their identity circles in order of the hierarchy starting from the outer circles and working inward.

The overlapping ones would be read in this order: group, author, item.

Hense internally in the programming we can have just one matrix and read or write to that matrix (settings) with commands that look like:

arrows['some label']='some value'
