Hmmm.... speaking of Apple, I wonder why FBI background files are public. I wonder how Steve Jobs heirs feel about this:
or

apparently they are covered by the freedom of information act.
... I didn't know that FOIA covers private persons fbi files - what does that have to do with the government? How about a FOIA on fbi files on Obama ? ... maybe even on some of his sitting cabinet members & appointees? Something is fishy. The actual revelations on Steve Jobs doesn't bother me - it's the principle!

well apparently this information was covered ...
source: your source above
The Wall Street Journal/FINS.com requested the file through the Freedom of Information Act. (See the original post on sister site FINS.com.)

... Personally i think it is great that you can find information about what the FBI has in it's files. The more open the government is, the better.

Yep, I wonder what they have on you, Seth. Think it is ok to publish?

Seth says
i don't know how the law works, do you? Looks like, once the government gives a person the information, it is up to them whether they make it public or not.
Mark de LA says
One would think that to publish such would violate the 4th amendment to the U.S. Constitution along with that right to privacy which protects abortion, but maybe not.
source: ... The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Note, and i might be wrong here, but it was not, i believe, the government who published the information making it public. Rather it was the WSJ. So, if that is the fact, you have the same kind of thing going on where a journalists learns something about a person and publishes it in their newspaper.
Me, i wonder who, except you, are trying to make a big deal about this ... but i don't suppose that you would just tell me, huh?

Usually when the government releases stuff previously classified or not for the public it has some purpose behind it. Otherwise all those emails on the DOJ, Eric Holder & Fast & Furious would already be out there as been requested even by Congress. That having been said I read the artlcle on Drudge, followed it to the WSJ & thought out loud .... Hmmmm..... is someone trying to tarnish Steve Job's reputation? Recently there was another surprise about JFK and his affairs with an intern - why tarnish his rep? I guess when popular culture gets rid of the old heroes then they can make new ones who have nothing to live up to! It would be interesting to see what the model for the Robin Hood Fable really was like.
