EDI is what banks & others use to transmit money transactions... been around for ages. What's your interest ?
We may be getting involved with some edi transactions.
I hear that sterling (your former employer) is big in edi.  Do you have any special knowledge of these transactions?  How difficult do you think it would be to make a fastblogit domain that had edi capabilities?

Sterling did have a very profitable division called Sterling Commerce that was made an independent company before Sterling was sold. I suspect if if was simple it wouldn't have been an independent & very profitable company.  The jist of the problem is that when you move money around by electronics you have to have high security, high reliability & virtually no mistakes - like a nuke power plant. It is more complex than CC transactions. It is more like the backend of moving the payments around the country between banks etc.
