Why is "Znuz is Znees" not the "same take" as "Znuz, the same as Znees" ... anyway these were 2 different slang dictionaries .

If znuz is znees, and znees is znuz, then neither can be frost.

Note equality is transitive. If znuz = znees = frost then everything is copasetic. Maybe a refresher course with Barbara Cubed would be a good idea

. The old man didn't define: znuz = znees = frost. Rather he defined: znuz = znees; znees = znuz. Iow ... looking at this with a bit of candor

.... one has a symbol who's referent is another symbol who's referent is that symbol. This is quite a unque situation and not one that we encounter every day. The old man, if nothing else, had a healthy sense of humor.

While I am witness to the sense of humor in the title of his autobiography, I believe he used The Dictionary of American Slang or maybe another where the circularity was evident & singular. In his yet to be published Dayn WAW page 73 compiled 26 August 1954 19:44 he does show the following: ZNEES = ZNUZ = ZNEESY = frost, frozen, extra cool . I believe that that is close to being the last word on what he meant, 1722 notwithstanding !

. That kind of fixed for me the meaning of this connundrum ... with all deferenct to 1722 of course.
