* There is no way to review a comment before publishing encept scrolling a long line back & forth to edit.

* There is no way to delete a comment on somebody else's item (in case you missed your shot or for other reasons)

* You may have noticed that it's a pain in the ass to have to scroll back & forth to an item at the bottom of the view of items to carry on a "conversation" about a single item. When you comment on an item the screen should stay in place and not scroll back to the top (IMHO).

* You know eventually somebody is going to want emoticons.

*** an ajax sort of behavior might solve some of these problems

With ~ 200 items / minute flowing into the stream the edit problem might become interesting since you would be posting a comment to something which , because of timing, might not be in the scroll window & the item might not have a tag - what do you suppose would happen ?

One way to solve the scrolling prob, where you are looking at dialogue on one item, is to open the permalink in a separate tab. Refersh that one whenever ... or perhaps there could be autorefresh like on gmail inbox.

Yes there should be a comment review. Prolly not until after phase 1 begins

Good idea on the permalink & autorefresh - need a FAQ to tease this behavior out for the minions

Because of the nature of the client-server and normal browser behavior, this is not a request that can be satisfied at this time. Perhaps opening an Ajax type interaction on one item would provide a solution. Alternatively I would like to investigate a live chat window that could be opened in any context. The current system would inform you of how many were in the chat room prior to openeing. This is not as advanced as it sounds. I may have already have found somebody to do it, though have not contected him yet in that regard. see tagroom chat

Point is that this is a poor replacement for live chat ... but what it is, is a good way to find the live chats that are going on in the context that you want to chat. Every tagroom and every item and every group can have its own live chat room . I've visited lots of web chat rooms and none of them are context sensitive, and hense none of them are interesting.

Actually this is kind of an easy piece and could be combined with the current project of modifying edit boxes ... all we need is the function (emoticon) -> (image)
