Uninvited Guests

About: neurotic Iraqi wife: Silence is Golden....

source: neurotic Iraqi Wife
I just found out a few hours ago that Bush is in Iraq...wander what wheeling and dealing is taking place with Maliki...Oooops, sorry Im in my unphased mood...Better start practising to give my tongue to the cat...Maybe then, instead of getting the "You should get out more, eat more, dress like a woman...bla bla bla" lectures, I will get the "Did the Cat Get Your Tongue???" As the saying goes...Silence, Silence is Golden...

I'm curious .. how did Bush showing up in Bagdad with 5 minutes notice make you really feel? I mean, sheez, if i were a head of state of a new nation trying to find it's identity and some big wig just shows up unannounced for a photo op ... i would be pissed! How do unannounced guests showing up for their own adgendas at your home make you feel? .... good? But really, how did it make you feel?

Oh and BTW, I cant help but comment on Bush's unannounced visit...I know I shouldnt really talk about that stuff cuz it exhausts me..But I mean cmon, Atleast Al Maliki should have been told a day before hand...Not like 30 minutes or an hour prior to visit...There are protocols to follow...I think the unannounced visit gave a really bad signal to the Iraqi population...I mean OK, for security reasons, granted...but atleast give some respect to the supposedly sovereign country...Im sorry but thats just my opinion...

Yes, , i felt the same way.

Please, please, please do not stop blogging. Yous is one of the only voices i know who is knows this situation first hand and speaks from the family point of view. Your voice is what the world needs now. Please do not silence it! Now i understand, somewhat, the problem with "Hubby" being one of those myself. Your hubby is important and cannot be ignored and cannot be separated from yourself. But there are ways ... maybe he could start his own blog ... maybe if he read all of your blog his love for you would grow. I don't know, i'm not a marriage counselor ... but one thing i do know ... your voice here should not be silenced.

I think you are believing to much of your anti-war, al-jeezera rhetoric. The idea that the Iraqis hate us is more AlQueda mantra than reality. Of course AlQueda hates us - they started the war with 9-11. I bet you didn't even watch Bush's press conference.

What did you expect ? To announce it first would be to have every one of Zarkawi's remaining beheading terrorist buddies looking for a chance to become famous by blowing him up - someone has their head in their !
Maybe this press conference will explain things a little better for you.

Yeaa, daha, i'm cognizant of the secruity neccessities when visiting a country in which you are hated.  But that doesn't change the perdicament from Maliki's persepective.   It was on the nightly network news that Maliki got notified 5 minutes before Bush showed up.  I'm just so very curious how this actually played for the Iraqi public ... what it felt like?   Certainly from the perspective of Bush's supporters here is was a bold Texan entrance.  They should make a movie about it ... i mean the secrecy and security precations and the technology that must have been use ... facinating !!  I want to hear more about it ... i mean how did they ever get him out of there after more than 2 Iraqi knew he was on their turf.  Gutsy ... very Gutsy !!

Perhaps someone should do a scientific poll over there ... sans that study, i'll stick with my perceptions which don't come from AlQueda, but come from the US media.  Eventually i hope to form more accurate perceptions by reading people, like the neurotic Iraqi Wife ... but that process has just started.

I watched the coverage of it on the national news.  Why, did he say anything that had any traction?

Well some reporter asked the question about his flying in with only a 5 minute warning. You'll have to dig it out if you don't believe me. He expressed that Iraq is a dangerous place and of course he is going to take precautions. He said that  Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. was glad to see him. There was more, of course.
