Coulter vs Evolution

Ann Coulter spoke at the Clare Booth Luce Policy Institute where they have set up a factory for churning out Coulter clones.   You can watch them march to the mike and fondel the Coulter brand hereFor your amusement i have isolated her spin on evolution here.  What these tender girls are taught by Coulter's example is that you can say whatever just as long as you "learn to embrace liberal hatred".  Why not just say "a lot of scientists know evolution is a crock", I mean who in their right mind is going to dispute that ?  Especially since "most of the scientists favoring Darwinism are bioligists .. ther're not phisicists, there not chemists"

So listen if you want a belly laugh.  We have here vintage Coulter literally letting her hair down and twerling it around to make her conservitive Christian girls giggle.  And if you want more wander over to the Speak To Me Catalog and purchase your own doll.  Maybe we could work out a group buy with the Clare Boothe Luce Institute ... i mean nobody else is buying into them and i have 4 more of the 6 i bought to sell.  I need to jump out of them before their batteries run out.

Anyway if you want to learn what biologists actually say about this "twinkel of an eye" 15 million year Cambrian period, you might start (but not stop)  here ....
source: Wikipedia
The large variety of fossil life forms found in the Burgess shale, the much younger Maotianshan shales of China, and more than three dozen other Cambrian sites on every continent except Antarctica leads many researchers to be skeptical that 10 to 15 million years is insufficiently long to explain the great diversity exhibited in the Cambrian fossil record. An emerging view is that the Cambrian explosion is the macroscopic conclusion to a prolonged period of evolution begun ~30 million years earlier with the innovation of multi-cellular organisms.
... and here ...
source: The Cambrian Explosion
The debate persists today about whether the evolutionary "explosion" of the Cambrian was as sudden and spontaneous as it appears in the fossil record. The discovery of new pre-Cambrian and Cambrian fossils help, as these transitional forms support the hypothesis that diversification was well underway before the Cambrian began. More recently, the sequencing of the genomes of thousands of life forms is revealing just how many and what genes and the proteins they encode have been conserved from the Precambrian. The explosion of external form in the fossil record is what we see, but more gradual adaptation was taking place at the molecular level. Wang et. al. (1999) for example, recently conducted phylogenetic studies divergences among animal phyla, plants, animals and fungi. These researchers estimated Arthropods diverged from more primitive chordates more than 900 million years ago, and Nematodes from that lineage almost 1200 million years ago. They furthermore estimated that the plant, animal and fungi Kingdoms might have split almost 1600 million years ago. Finally, they conjecture that the basal animal phyla (Porifera, Cnidaria, Ctenophora) diverged between about 1200 and 1500 million years ago. If their research is valid, at least six major metazoan phyla appeared deep in the Precambrian, hundreds of millions of years before the oldest fossils in the fossil record.

A facinating aspect of the Cambrian explosion is its speed over some 10 million years. From this it is reasonable to infer that expanded genomic complexity occured much earlier, perhaps over a billion years, prior to the morphological (phenotype) diversity that appeared in the Lower Cambrian. In recent years, research has shown that genomic complexity "happens" in many ways, including duplication and deletion of genes, cascades of genes, and, in complex organisms, entire chromosomes can be affected. Interesting also, is that such geneomic scrambling
is an important mechanism in the etiology of cancers in animals.
Me thinks Coulter will not be encouraging her clones to dig into what scientist really think ... nope, comes out funnier if you just lie about it.

Too bad that the Church of the Far left Liberal Mud Puddle is the only religion in your basket.  & you wonder (NOT) why people in the world nowadays seem to be in moral decay

This Clair Boothe Luce Policy Institute sounds to me more like a madrass ... like a "Jesus Camp". All the girls intoduced themselves as "interns" ... ... i wonder how much they charge them to be interns for the summer.   Hopefully their paresnts aren't spending a lot of money for their daughters to learn how to think constructively.  Hopefully they know they are being trained to think like good Christian Conservitive girls.  Hopefully they will like the mantra

I posted this item on their forum here.  I wonder how long it will take them to censor it.

What's interesting, now that you mention it, is that Ann Coulter defends McCarthyism.  I did a double take when i first heard that, but then i flashed, don't whine or she'll give me a gig.  This girl has you comming or going ... it's her ball game ... it's her palying board ... it's her paradigm.  Liberals are the niggers here ... any way they paly.  Of course McCarthyism was unamiously rejected by our society, Coulter's linguistic board game notwistanding.  Sorry, girl,  timeout, go stand in the corner ... we don't do that anymore.
This node is more appropriate for Ann Coulter blogma. You are tilting at windmills. As I have said before, Ann Coulter is the right's equivalent of the left-wing asshole Al Franken. Moved from 4107.

Your criticism might be more convincing if you knew how to spell and didn't use quite so many smiley faces. How old are you? Twelve? I notice that you failed to address any of the substantive arguments she made in answering the questions of interns (many of whom are paid for their work, not that it matters a great deal). In any case, her talk is available on C-SPAN if you would like to order a copy, and do a (preferably legible) refutation of her arguments instead of hurling insults at the people who attended. As it is, though, you are just making an ass of yourself, and the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute would be wise to remove your link. After all, they have no obligation to provide traffic to your blog.

It's funny , I think Christian values are normally better than no values at all! You are probably giving Ann Coulter more publicity than she deserves. Keep it coming!
Hey i got to sell those dolls.  I'm working a group buy here.  I figure if i can off load them on the Boothies, it will be better for the enviornment than if they have to go to land fill.

Well on one thing we can agree ... there is an over use of smiley faces here at fastblogit.  Sorry about the spelling, i will try to do better.

I think Ann is funny ... but it is the kind of funny where you laugh because something is wrong.  She shows us how to misuse language.  She distorts political dialogue into a left-right  schoolyard dissing game.   Does she make substantive arguments?   Well her words sometimes do hint at arguments that have validity, but if you tossed coins you would hit more often.  Take for example her diatribe about evolution which i highlighted above.  The Cambrian explosion is a valid challenge to evolutionary theory.  I give her a hit for that one.  But it was not a "blink of the eye", it was 15 million years, and the fossil record contains evidence of species diversification going back hundreds of millions of years preceding that period.  Evolutionary biologist have dealt with the Cambrian explosion at great length in peer review articles in the literature.   What i find hilarious is that Ann seems to think that they should respond to her distorted rhetoric.  Real scientists, even evolutionary biologists, don't respond to kooks.

Btw, as i pointed out above, you don't need to "order a copy from C-Span", you can still get a copy on line here.

Even Lanny Davis, a former or present Clintonista admits that "Bigotry and hate aren't just for right-wingers anymore."
This, (my own) was also moved as belonging in the McCarthyism conversation. from 4107.
More about McCarthyism at some later time. We got some more of it going on these days & it's mostly PC mixed with anti-Bush. If the Democrat Party wins in 2006 look for the modern day McCarthyism style revenge impeachment fever to raise it's stench.
