I see that my old friend Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has taken Mama's advice and started the blog! At first I thought this might be The Farse but no - it is The Deal of the Reality!

... but Boing Boing is not so sure. 

I watched some of the Mike Wallace interview with Ahmadinejad on C-span yesterday.  I didn't like the way Wallace conducted the interview ... too combative.  I think it would have been far more interesting if he had gone with him ... teased him out ... instead of insisting on the "why haven't you stopped beating your grandmother" type questions.  As it happened nothing interesting came of it.  Like why did he cut him off when he started talking about nukes.  I mean why bother if your not going to let the person express themselves.

I think deep down in Ahmadinejad's heart he really does want a dialogue with Bush.  I mean, otherwise, why did he write this letter ?   And before you come out with the knee jerk response ... "oh it's just propoganda"  ... think about it first.  Sure he's gonna lead with his side of the story ... with his traditional thinking pattern ... so then Bush could respond with his traditional stuff .   It would have been a fine drama between two mutually exclusive cultures  ... talking back and forth ... instead of lobbing nukes at each other.  I bet lots of people would have subscribed to the feed.
