delema between private items and public feeds

Untill we, and the rest of the blogosphere, implement encrypted feeds, I am going to keep private items out of feeds. Otherwise, even though you could not see a private item here, you could still read it just by subscribing to the feed of the group.

The down side of this is that feeds would be useful to keep up with private conversations where one needs to login to the group to become privey.

Oh well ... or perhaps that gives us an advantage over the competition (blogspot, usenet, etc ), should we deem it feasable to find a encrypted news reader service or desktop application and market to that niche, by encrypting private items to that newsreader's specifications.
