Pope on the Ropes

About: the new york times misrepresents the pope's words about: pope assails secularism, adding note on jihad - new york times

one wonders how long we have to look
at this sorry story.  Maybe a special
domain needs to be cut to work out
every little detail until months after
some crazed Muslim decides to make
the argument moot.

Apparently when I deleted the picture which had a valid url the problem went away.
Yep, we must have had a bug. I will try again for amusement in a bit.
Apparently this is a jpeg which may work the other was a bmp from google.

It bothers me a bit too!  One wonders why you continue to update the body instead of the comments. It is a rather large mess now to read. Maybe someday the River option not to bubble to the top will get implemented by the  for subsequent updates.
PS I would probably feel a lot better about it if I didn't have to look at that ugly outraged muslim every time it went bye.

Well this item represents a relatively complete coverage of the event.  It will live on fastblogit for a long time providing a history of what happened and what real people though about what happend.  The event is almost over and only small waves will impinge on the awareness from now on.  However, i do intend to continue to update, if not the item itself, at least the comments.  Culturing the ability to focus on the complete etology of an event in history, while it happens, is good idea ... advocating a short attention span, is not.

The length of the item is not a problem because i have been indicating where the item itself has changed with the new icon.

PS: Me thinks that if you are irritated by images going by, that fastblogit will always be irritating to you.   After all we have people here who regualrly post turds and  sometimes attempt to be just as offensive as they possibly can be.  Tolerance is, ironically, the best attitude to culture here.  If you don't like to look at something then don't focus on it at all.  There really is no other solution in a form like fastblogit.  We really cannot ask group seth not to post their awarnesses.

please note that there is an error (probably a missing end html element) in this item and that it is distorting the entire river in this area.  Please fix it.
Is it OK now ?
No i don't think so, the scroll bar should not extend for the entire length of the item plus comments.  As i don't see any redeeming social or literary value in this item i refuse to put any time into debugging whatever propitious event befell it.  I suggest deleteing it and starting from scratch and perhaps introducing some small measure of literary or social value as you go along.
I think it is some of the wizzard's bad programming. There are no bad links in any user controlled parts of the text.
Certainly it is true that any malfunction here can be traced to some programming oversignt on my part.  This one, however, has unintended positive effects.
