On most of my browsers the logout preserves the author and password fields (*****) - I think these should be cleared on logout.
Seth:
I disagree. Though there should be a warning in the faq to logout if you are posting from an Internet cafe type environment. The wole rational of fastblogit is so that you do not need to go through extra protocols; consequently security is lax. This is intentional.

** additional info is that the password preserved is worthless it enters as just asterisks.

Well Firefox and IE do not exibit that behavior. I need to have more information re those browsers that do exibit this behavior. All the logout is is a instruction to delete the cookie by storing a cookie that has already expired. This is the usual technique of clearing a cookie. Perhaps these browsers that you are using are not complying with stand cookie behavior. Or perhaps there is some way that i can post something to the next screen which would could be use to empty these variables which evidentally are being read from a cookie which has already expired. In any case this a a low priority bug. tagged it -9bug

I use Firefox - it may have something to do with the automatic prompt to preserve passwords - most browsers have one - to help the user avoid remembering same. A faq on this and public terminals may help out - I think the only thing it would expose on public terminals is the Author's name . I still think the password is worthless.
