Quads

Quads is a language designed to be easily read and written by both humans and automated agents. It is an an extension of N-Triples. This means that every well formed N-Triple is also a well formed Quad. Quads extends N-triples by adding the optional attributes: context, and the dialogue performatives: ". ? !". Names are allowed in the place of uriref; and they may be prefixed with namespaces. Compound names are supported.

It is interesting to note that the W3C eventually defined a QUADS grammar … see “RDF 1.1 N-Quads” which became a full recommendation as of three days from now, two years ago

They call the fourth element added to the triple, “graph” … but it is the same thing as i call “context”.

it didnt get much traction at the W3C ... oh well ... me thinks that eventually they might come around ... but i dont have the time to hang out there and wait for it to happen ... thing about context is that traditional logic cannot deal with it ... with traditional logic a thing is either true or false ... no context involved ... sound familure ?

In the old cybermind, the menton was the only "context" structure. On today's web we can give a context a uri.

Is N-Triples similar to N-Tuples ? why not just remove the N and call them triples ?

I think your on to something here

Any identifier, and i don?t care how global it is in scope, gets its meaning from the context of it?s use. That?s why the triple was a bad choice for the Semantic Web. You will get better results by including a context identifier with the assertion. Check out my suggestion for Quads.

Okay. So now you can use the quad editor over in group 94 to see the actual quads we have … and see if we did them rightly … or more likely, document where and how I screwed the semantic pooch. ?
