There is nothing wrong with caring for our planet. When you have a pain in your body or a fever, surely you take note and alter your behavior accordingly. The same goes for our planet. There is no doubt that mankind is altering the natural order, consequently mankind must take responsible actions to avert whatever disasters he causes. For that care to be twisted into a "dangerous new religion" is just irresponsible rhetorical bolder dash.

Science is not consensus - get over it ! I am just experiencing the coldest & most snowy winter since I have been here in Colorado - that's real experience. That defies any balderdash that you can come up to make global warming a panic. Those who predicted the worst hurricane season for the US last year because of global warming failed miserably. You folks must have missed Scientific Method1A in your personal training. Reread section III in particular.

I read his script down to the point where he said "Some of us are old enough to remember similar hysterics over air pollution ...". Then i remember those "hysterics" and how it ended up making the air in the Los Angeles basin at least half way breathable. Scripts must at least be consistent with the known facts of history.

I suppose you were too young at the time there were hysterics about the notion that the Earth was round. There must have been lots of people crying about falling off the edge! Anyway, the point of using your scripts thingy was that most scripts for the MSM & leftists want to make people feel guilty at the rapidly approaching apocalypse which we of course caused & thus allow all kinds of governmental regulation of our ordinary lives & choices &, most importantly, the levying of all kinds of new taxes for the government to spend on useless programs to stop the apocalypse which recently people have said can't be stopped.
P.S. I don't remember hysterics about smog. I do remember extreme distress trying to breathe the shit. I am now paying extra cost to heat my home in the midst of this global warming hysterics. Go figure !

So do i. I also remember when it got better and i remember thinking that this was a case where people ended up solving a hard problem. Global warming has a extremely long lead time ... if we wait untill we have "extreme distress" it may just be too late. I'm glad that we got about a half century lead time before things start getting really bad. There is no need to panic ... but there is a need to mobolize solid science and technology and innovation and planning to focus on the problem. This creates a lot of oppurtunities. It may well end up being a boon to our economy as well as making our energy independant of Middle Eastern political manipulation. If in the end we find that we didnt need to do it, well then we all can have a good laugh ... and most of those laughfing will be entrapeneurs laugfing to the bank. I think your opposition to it is just silly. Are you in the grips of rwg on this matter?

I'm not willing to laugh off a multi-trillion $ boon-doggle & the possible destruction of the US economy just for bogus science. Sorry, no rwg here. Rumor has it that the recent IPCC summary was written by politicians. I will wait for the full report . No multi-trillion $ boon-doggle for them either. The UN has failed in about everything they do or touch. They couldn't even keep sanctions on Saddam. I don't think giving them the power to muck with the Earth's climate is anything I would trust them to do.
