Seth's use of the archaic form of the word obtains, barely.
I would use the Godfather quote "Keep your friends close & your enemies closer!" to counter or align with what Christiane Amanpour dug up from an anonymous source. Or more perfectly "If Pigs could fly ...." to Seth's previous response. I see no good reason to deal with a government that daily proclaims Death to America & Death to Israel just on the hope that there are others that want to be our friends in that country. Someone that is that deceitful, as Saddam found out, is proceeding to a delusional self-fulfilling end. Why join him or them?
The UN is the common framework - make it work or get out of it & quit wasting time on that which doesn't work.

Is probably a true sentence. Me thinks that our government should absorb it's meaning. More sanctions will have no positive effect. What we should be thinking about is how to draw a hard fast uncrossable line between a nuclear technology used to generate power and one used to make weapons. The IAEA report gives us a flavor of just how difficult drawing that line actually is.

What we should be thinking about is how to draw a hard fast uncrossable line between a nuclear technology used to generate power and one used to make weapons. Maybe in light of the sentiments of 4909 we could accelerate the nuclear peace & dismantlement by giving Iran a few of our extra bombs & save them the trouble of developing the good ones. Then, they would be sure to trust us & the rest of the world would get the idea & then we could all bury the stuff!
