Nice !

Seth says
known bug as of 6:30 today, does not work in group tag rooms.

Seth says
i cleaned up some other nasty bugs too ... am looking for them now in peg room

Seth says
Bugs fixed on this: item 466 with the exception of
as well as permalinks
... that is still work in progress

Seth says
in using this new feature i ran into the need for having buttons on the bottom of the screen ... might to escilate that want

Mark de LA says
I was just about to suggest that item ! M(;-))

Seth says
The earlier\later buttons on permalinks is real easy if you dont interperte it as meaning to keep within the given room, then it becomes real hard. I'm gonna do it easy and see if anyone notices.

Mark de LA says
permalinks is a saybal gress ing ?

Seth says
saybal jacing ... actually rejacing

Mark de LA says
Won't most people operate within groups - i don't think they want to go earlier/later in the living stream !

Mark de LA says
wasn't quite sure whether jace was on mentons or symbols - been a while (;-))

Mark de LA says
like * * * 's (;-)

... err ... well ... going earlier\later in the common river is gonna be MUCH MORE EXCITING !

Mark de LA says
gonna skip the excludes eventually ?

Why would they not just go earlier\later in their group, not in the permalink. I really dont think we are loosing a feature here.

Seth says
earlier/later now working in permalinks see this item

Seth says
Also, when we get the river flowing fast, getting on what u think is the last item and clicking later and trying to keep up with the river might be a fun thing to do.

Seth says
Also, being able to see where an item fell in time irregardless of group or tag might be an important piece of information.

Mark de LA says
Sorry got confused by
I vote for taking the group out of the permalink. Here are my reasons:
in the other item

Mark de LA says
My concern is that earlier/later, forward/backward or whatever should work uniformly in whatever grouping it is applied to. I think the order of the items (newest->latest) should also be uniform in the groupings (not to be confused with group) unless a sort specifier is provided in a button or configuration item.

How are they not uniform, the way i have it working now ?

Mark de LA says
right now it is LIFO - maybe after the audience gets more sophisticated it can have an option of LIFO or FIFO.

Mark de LA says
didn't say they were - maybe i didn't understand what the quoted item means. was just adding emphasis to a probably understood requirement

Mark de LA says
s/b able to reasoably guess what the behavior is

Seth says
I think it will always be LIFO ... (well maybe an exceptional display screen might go FIFO) ... i even changed the title room to conform, primarialy because of this " s/b able to reasoably guess what the behavior is" maxim, to which i subscribe. I do believe it is consistent now. Unless someone brings up a gotcha, im gonna remove the group from the permalink. That is no biggie. I may also change the interperter to make a group prefixing an item an erronious uri. That might cast some of our old links into oblivion, but that is why we call this alpha.

Seth says
gonna skip the excludes eventually ?
Actually this is not too hard ... just go in a loop on the sql retrieve untill rows != 0 coded this item .4wish for that reason

Seth says
Incidentally this is a feature that no other blog has Or least not that i know of. They do have something that we don't have and that is a calendar of the old history. I think this is more useful, though, don't you ? I tagged this "feature exclusive" and "fastblogit" so that we can keep track of these exclusive things that others do not have.
