The earlier\later buttons on permalinks is real easy if you dont interperte it as meaning to keep within the given room, then it becomes real hard. I'm gonna do it easy and see if anyone notices.

Also, when we get the river flowing fast, getting on what u think is the last item and clicking later and trying to keep up with the river might be a fun thing to do.

Also, being able to see where an item fell in time irregardless of group or tag might be an important piece of information.

I vote for taking the group out of the permalink. Here are my reasons:in the other item
Mark de LA says
My concern is that earlier/later, forward/backward or whatever should work uniformly in whatever grouping it is applied to. I think the order of the items (newest->latest) should also be uniform in the groupings (not to be confused with group) unless a sort specifier is provided in a button or configuration item.

right now it is LIFO - maybe after the audience gets more sophisticated it can have an option of LIFO or FIFO.

I think it will always be LIFO ... (well maybe an exceptional display screen might go FIFO) ... i even changed the title room to conform, primarialy because of this " s/b able to reasoably guess what the behavior is" maxim, to which i subscribe. I do believe it is consistent now. Unless someone brings up a gotcha, im gonna remove the group from the permalink. That is no biggie. I may also change the interperter to make a group prefixing an item an erronious uri. That might cast some of our old links into oblivion, but that is why we call this alpha.

gonna skip the excludes eventually ?Actually this is not too hard ... just go in a loop on the sql retrieve untill rows != 0 coded this item .4wish for that reason

Incidentally this is a feature that no other blog has Or least not that i know of. They do have something that we don't have and that is a calendar of the old history. I think this is more useful, though, don't you ? I tagged this "feature exclusive" and "fastblogit" so that we can keep track of these exclusive things that others do not have.
