Railroad swing bridge, Snohomish Washington

Here is a picture of a railroad swing bridge over the Snohomish river near the town of Snohmish Washington.  It is rusted and not in use.  On the other side of the river is a saw mill with and mounds of logs, but me thinks they don't go over this bridge, the rail line ends inside the town of Snohomish.   I'll be going back up there soon in search of paper collectables, perhaps i'll bring back some more pictures.

The bridge swings around the pillar under the control house.  If opened it would allow passage on the smaller channel of the river.  The tracks end on 1st about 300 ft from the shore.  There is a locked chain link fense across the tracks making it extremely difficult to climb up on the bridge.  It certainly discouraged me.  So the teens who i snapped a couple weeks ago were daredevils indeed. 




It just dawned on me that we need a picture showing the scale of this thing ... so here it is ... look at the little person on top ...
