And here is another clue as to why they should all be thrown out.  Lobbying reform seems not to be in the cards any time soon.  If others can buy your congressman's or senator's vote what good is your own ?

It's election time - the height of the RWG mania. Books will come out, pronouncements will be made, lies & smears will hyperventillate within the media.  It will become impossible to tell which is which. Truth will certainly take a back seat to winning at all costs!

Enjoy! Time for me to take a vacation !
Hope you folks can find a nice Zen moment (or maybe some good porn) somewhere in amongst those boiling gastric juices.

This is a good reason to get rid of them all.  Nancy Pelosi seems to think she is queen of the House of Representatives - wants no opposition voices to be heard according to Drudge.  It sounds as if we have a bunch of kindergardners fighting on the playground to me.  Why can't we have people who have some brains in Congress?

PELOSI LOWERS THE BOOM
Wed May 16 2007 14:43:59 ET

After losing a string of embarrassing votes on the House floor because of procedural maneuvering, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has decided to change the current House Rules to completely shut down the floor to the minority.

The Democratic Leadership is threatening to change the current House Rules regarding the Republican right to the Motion to Recommit or the test of germaneness on the motion to recommit. This would be the first change to the germaneness rule since 1822.

In protest, the House Republicans are going to call procedural motions every half hour.

Yeah, well, this is definitely the rwg of politics.  I don't know if there is a viable solution on the table.  Throw the bums out, then start over again ... yeah sure.  Don't have political parties at all ... hmmm.   Have a third party ... hasn't worked.  Maybe the problem is that the majority controls all the committees ... that is not burned into the constitution ... but only body that can change it is Congress itself.

Mark de LA says
The main point here is exclusive of partisanship.  Both sides behave badly!  Congress now has 3-4 point poll rating below Bush & part of that is the antics & power struggles that are just a waste of time & taxpayer money.  Once a candidate gets elected it looks like he/she/it then thinks he/she/it's in a playground for personal benefits.  Being libertarian I prefer they not be there at all if that is all they are going to do.

Might actually be interesting to know what this is all about sans the Drudge partisan hyperventilation,  but i'm not so sure that you could get there from here.
Here is some more from the Politico.

I say, better still - vote for deadlock.  That way nothing at all will get done: no spending, no wars etc..

Excellant Idea  ... i give it .  My fantasy is that Congress can't agree at all for any supplamental funding bill ... not now ... not when the money runs out .... then what?
Yep, they can loose the election because of inaction & a new crop of shitheads will replace them. The rules of the running of Congress need to be set by the Constution IMHO; perhaps even being updated for the electronic age.  I also propose that their salaries run out at the same time.

Here is another reason to vote them all out:
House Keeps Pet Projects From Scrutiny: ...

Rather than including specific pet projects, grants and contracts in legislation as it is being written, Democrats are following an order by the House Appropriations Committee chairman to keep the bills free of such earmarks until it is too late for critics to effectively challenge them.

... skirting the rules so that spending your taxes is all in the back room conferences.  Promise one thing & then do another sounds like corruption to me.

Mark de LA says
And here is how Congress wastes time & frustrates the expressed desires of the people to have something besides the currently contemplated boondoggle of immigration amnesty.

And on the earmark & transparency of spending news front:
Despite promises, few in House make earmark requests public
They already have enough power to ignore you so thrown them ALL out!

Mark de LA says
Yet some more shenannigans from Congress. Hide & seek with putting stuff in bills not relevant to the bill being signed.
Whether you are for or against the government funding research on extracts of embryos with your tax dollars don't you think that a straight forward vote on the subject is the proper way for representative government to do it's business?
Throw them all out & keep throwing them out until Congress gets the point!

Maybe some of you who are feeling the unresponsiveness of the Congress and are answering the polls thus: (note it's worse than Bush)
source: ... Just 14% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress
... should take action accordingly in the next election;  partisanship notwithstanding!

We should form the Anti-partisan party because partisanship is what's really causing all these bizarre behaviors in Congress & by the president.  Partisanship is a pure power struggle & has little to do with issues & solutions.  As a rule I don't like anti goals & statements.  Please, if someone can come up with a name for a party that expresses Anti-Partisanship without the anti in it please let me know below.

What's wrong with just having politicians withdraw from party affiliations and become independents?
Nothing at all. However, what is needed is an anti-partisan viewpoint. I'm not sure that once partisan one could change to nonpartisan.  We need elected politicians (perhaps a oxymoron) who come into office from the perspective that finding solutions congruent with the freedom & security of the people is more important than staying in power & getting re-elected.  Staying in power should be at the bottom of their list of things to do: citizen & businessmen taking on the mantle of public service for a short while & then returning to private lives.
