The Song

The song of Leonard Cohen sung much better by Jeff Buckley named Halleluja (lyrics & chords) Wikipedia -& YouTube inspires me to think of the possibility of a song or maybe symphony or opera with visuals which could uplift the World. A good song & music cuts past or refines the chords &  the the intellectuals of the right-wrong game. I suspect the notion of the Music of the Spheres wherein the gods & Holy Spirit create the Cosmos & the karma of human beings is what I am aiming at here.
I like the sadness & broken-heart lyrics floating in & out of allusions to biblical or mythical scenes & ordeals.

Muse all seems to aim at poetry - epic poetry maybe is the muse I am seeking for here. Music in the Wikipedia has a lot of nice clues.

Here is a female singer Allison Crowe singing the song on YouTube.

<== Muse with her lyre

I think Liber Berylli CLXXV might be an access to the Muse. The liber might also be an access for the group magick.    Bhakti yoga as expressed here is another kind of devotional doorway. This is like a ritual meditation. With PR we did walking contemplation. Sculptors use their art to manifest from the spiritual world - imagination, inspiration & intuition.

Some clues in this hexagram commentary at the end to what I am aiming at. I also ran into this today in a commentary.
Perhaps In the Arms of the Angels by Sarah McLachlan also sung by Allison Crowe here the idea continues. Stimulated by the appearance on American Idol of Christina Aguelara’sYou Lost Me on the program.
Another song that has an effect is the Lie To Me theme song A Brand New Day as on YouTube here.

*** Various pieces of art, music, poetry etc have had a powerful emotional impact on my life. In the warehouse we did some plays in which Seth participated - I helped more like a producer. I have a lot of imagination about the production but nothing is solid at this time.  I want to use the forces of Art to change Pathos of society to become more compassionate, alive & balanced. These are my musings & quick bookmarks.

Another song: Moody Blues - So Fly little Bird on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a_fr9j7RUc choreographed to pictures of all kinds of birds.  I went chasing after a picture to illustrate my experience of birds flitting around in the bushes outside my window. They remind me of my thoughts & blogging in a way.  They move incredibly fast from one place to another, pause for a brief moment & then flit away somewhere else looking around all the time. Occasionally they pause for a second & pinch out a droplet on the leaves below that looks nothing like what they found to eat at some other place in the bushes.

& Then there's Christina Aguelera singing the SSB at the Super Bowl XLV.
source: ...
At about 51 seconds in, as she was about to sing the fourth line ("O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming"), she accidentally sang a hybrid of the second line: "What so proudly we watched, at the twilight's last streaming."
...

It still worked for me!

final song by Callie "I was Made for You" was a nice blend of drama and music, well done here on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4IGEAlmXrE . Almost as good as the final episode of 6 feet Under to the tune of Breathe Me while all the characters aged to their respective deaths.

Here's a old song I like mostly for the lyrics: Simon & Garfunkle
"And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence"

At the risk of exposing myself somewhat naked on the internet I will take this to the LOA channel as an example.  It is a project so vast that it may take more than one life to accomplish.  OTOH, it might stay in one life if enough people successfully enroll in the idea.

As you may remember, my favorite version was sung by KD Lang, hear it here

What does this have to do with LOA?
The one that evokes the most drama for me is still Jeff Buckley. If I could watch KD then maybe I would get more out of it.
As for LOA, I'm just sending out a long line a la Hooked on Danger TV program to see if there is any sushi out there.

I think this one beats them all considering the context: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKK7AXLOUNo
Tina email: ... This is absolutely awesome...  she can't hear, nor can she speak. No bridle, no saddle... all commands are by touch only.  This is one of those, "I wouldn't believe it unless I saw it with my own eyes" kind of thing. This girl riding the horse is in her 20's - her father passed away just 24 days before this performance. You can hear her dedication to him just before her performance so turn up your speakers a bit. Notice that it is just her and the horse - no bit, no saddle. She uses signals and touch cues, she's mute. Oh yeah, this isn't even her horse. She is training it for someone else, although she obviously has a relationship with this one.
... The song, the words, the story, the performance, all together is simply perfect, imho.
 thanks, Stacy!

I may post this on facebook to the Voice (& did).
I hold that Christina Aguilera's You Lost Me can't be topped (or the version on American Idol Finale).
Most of the songs being sung are uninteresting structural & melody wise. Every now & then a singer comes along and produces a song whose melody & structure get imitated for a generation. Some artists I remember of old were: Joni Mitchell, Susan Vega, Mary Hopkin, Supertramp & Alanis Morisette in the popular genre.
I wish some more songs like Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp which has both melody & structure would show up on the Voice. Most of what goes on seems like big screen production of old music which is just loud coloraturo of single sentence bridge songs.
