Google search website works on FastBlogIt

I noticed today that I have this icon:
on my google toolbar & discovered it works well on FastBlogIt if I start out a search from the river. It gives a fair clue as to what google has indexed.  For example review this search!  It even searches for words in the comments which are not in the tags !  See this one!
Maybe can examine the parameters of the search which seem to be:
xxxxx site:fastblogit.com

... and improve on our google xxxxx syntax.

but talk always degenerates into linkfarms of others' opinions
The semiotics of reference and views filtered through others is all there is to talk about ... as you would say, get used to it.

More:  here is keyboard navigation of their search lists.  Now if they could just get a nextunder key function that would really be useful. This is under google labs just in case the link doesn't get you there.  You have to start your searches from the example, not the usual tool bar.

I also like the timeline search such as this one on al-Qaeda. Or this one on Ahmadinejad. Or this one on Vladimir Putin & this one on Mount St. Helens.

Well you culd do something like [fastblogit mt st helens] which would perform the search site:fastblogit.com "mt st helens" ... or you could make it more an off the cuff inquiry rather than a reference.  Google has long had a feature where they could put their search at your site. Using that is prolly more efficient than paying for more full text indexes.  But don't you think another bell and whistel "improvement" here at fbi won't make much difference ... it's like those commercials for comcast digital voice ... the conversations won't change.

I think the most useful is the site search which includes words from the comments as well as the tags.  That doesn't require anything more than awareness of the feature of the google toolbar and no more work by the . The rest are all amusements. It is interesting that google is still improving the search engines.  There was some article which I lost track of that suggested a more semantic web approach was close to an implementation. And, of course, there is nothing here yet to improve human communication than humans already have.

Here was an attempt to put the pros & cons of an argument or question into view, but talk always degenerates into linkfarms of others' opinions.  Maybe we could start there.

Actually, NO!  I am not really interested in others' opinions.  I want to hear what YOU think of things.  If you can't express yourself well enough to get your own points across then maybe what you are dealing with is just being a conduit for some else's propaganda. Generally, unless I want to gather info, I don't read stuff in link farms.  When I see it in your posts I say to myself he's just too lazy to tease out the essentials of his argument & wants me to read someone else whom he agrees with.  I am not likely to read 7th generation blogma.

Next time you catch me refering to a "link farm" in that manner, please point it out.  I don't think i do it all that very much ... what i do - do is to point to a place to disambigufy  my reference ... so that you will know what i am talking about.  Like for example the top of the cascade barbara shop ... (see below).

The topics surrounding global warming gave birth to a plethora of link farms on both our parts.

So what?  I'm not getting your point here.  A reference tells you specifically what you are refering to.  If i say Tai Hu, are you quite so sure what i am talking about, unless i go Tai Hu?  If you do that enough times in a discussion, you obviously get a link farm.  Sometimes i refer to a google page that updates to use that for my own purposes of going there and seeing what is new about the story ... like this.  Occasionaly i would prefer you using more links because sometimes i have no idea to what you are refering and consequently need to guess if it looks interesting enough to talk about.
Well, I am quite skilled in Googling stuff myself. I am sure you are too!  When I read something of yours I am really only interested in ideas you have come up with or put together in a new way on your own.  I am also skilled in picking out the point of view of most bloggers & authors of blogs. There is far more shit on the Internet to read than I care to waste time on. I give preference to you & yours if it has something unique from all the rest.  Bookmarks are nice if not too nested.  In a way this dovetails into my previously expressed opinion somewhere that nothing new is likely to show up in blogma.  Occasionally, I try to stimulate something new as with 4636, but failed to stimulate anyone but myself.

Well i certainly share your appreciation of original content but i also appreciate a well chosen reference and how it weaves the web.  We all are free to choose the focus of our attention and at the moment mine is ecletic.  Finding interesting things on the web is not hard, sites like Boing Boing come easily to mind.  Thing is when there is so much of that persuit of the interesting going on ... suddenly even the unique and original take on a hum-drum aura of mundanity.  Then too things change ... the Internet ever remakes itself ... now, me thinks, it is expanding into finer grained imagery of reality ... google earth and digital photography being the frontier of that.  The searchability (selectablity, retrieveability, rememberability) of this new finer grain is now at the level that text search was circa 1997.  I expect this electronic mind of man has much more growing to do here.
