Police pursue a criminal along the Green River ... err Not

We observed this event around 7 PM on July 19.  It was one of those stories that didn't make the 11 O'Clock news. 

Then next day the story started comming out.

FYI, there was a famous mass murderer case from that area.
Yeah i know, "the green river killer". 
Finally this afternoon the story is starting to come out in the press, but with no pictures.  Apparently a level 3 sex offender hid in the back of a woman's car and accosted her when she drove away.  She shouted and citizens came to her aid and restrained the man.  We must have missed the event by just minutes because we had parked in trail parking lot near Home Depo and then walked up on the trail overlooking the lot where it happened.  I snapped the picture on the left at 6:41 ... the news reports that it happened just shortly before 7 PM. 

At 6:53 i snapped this picture of a police car responding to the event.

It is still a mystery why they were using the K9 dog to sniff out the trail, as by that time the criminal was already in custody.  Denise thinks they were looking for the knife.
