We need a name for the system.

The old name was "cybermind".  Since then the Semantic Web has started happening.  Also wiki and the flow of items in the blogosphere (river).  This is also about context, dialogue, focus, attention, and interaction of people in groups.  What is a short name that will imply as much of that as possibe?

Discuss and suggest but stay on topic ...

Seth says
i like the idea that each one of these are action items

Seth says
mindflow may already be taken

Seth says
"mindflow action" is not

Mark de LA says
CyberFlow has been taken. SemMindWitch (The Semantic Mind Sandwitch) comes to mind; The CyberFolksonomy is a long word & so is CyberBlogosphere - nice though

Mark de LA says
Cyb3rMind is a nice trademark (ug!) for CyberMind III & uses some of the features of a word not needing all of the characters in the word to be read easily.

Mark de LA says
& then again I don't know what's wrong with FastBlogIt.

Mark de LA says
That leaves open then CyberM4nd & Cy5erMind etc.... for futures.

The CyberRiver Project & the SemRiverFlow Project

Mark de LA says
I like "The SemanticRiver Project " because "Sem" as a syllable doesn't connote much.

Mark de LA says
Sem could be the sem in semen (;-))

Mark de LA says
You could, of course, reserve sem prefix for the porn river project.

Seth says
i like "Semantic River" which could be shortened to "semriver" .. very short and pronounceable

Mark de LA says
I like it too, but then what about those other semen type connotations ?

Seth says
and it appears that "semriver" might be a coin ... there is a semriver.com ... which some kind of project is running on

Mark de LA says
Also could use SemaRiver - see semantic etymology

Seth says
"semantic river" does seem to already have a context .. wiich i say is good. ... "semanticriver" is close to a coin ... i wonder if there is another more stemy stem that we could substitute for river

Mark de LA says

Mark de LA says

Mark de LA says
physicists might like flux

FlowSphere

CyberDNA SemanticDNA

Mark de LA says
CyberDNA.net is still available

Seth says
i totally absolutely favor words that can be pronounced. wiki words or ok but in a way they are kind of a cheet ... not real words. it would be nice to coin a real word here.

Mark de LA says
Cyberjism - Bill Buckley used the word jism in one of his columns many months ago

Mark de LA says
link

Seth says
in that link the spelling is "gism" not "jism"

Mark de LA says
yes, & slang spells it both ways - interesting that we are trying to invent a neologism

Seth says
semgroups is another possibliity .... i would much prefer getting away from the term "blog" and encourage the term "group"

Seth says
interesting that we are trying to invent a neologism
hmmm ... do u have something against inventing neologism ? I've always reveled in it. I know that in some ivory tower groups, inventing neologism is frowned upon. But i disagree with all of their reasons for shunning this fine human persuit.
