And remember the Arctic Sea ice? The ice we were told so hysterically last fall had melted to its "lowest levels on record? Never mind that those records only date back as far as 1972 and that there is anthropological and geological evidence of much greater melts in the past.

I am with you mostly on all of these, but for different reasons using different methods for different results.   The above I think is a myth or I don't know what you are talking about.
It never ceases to amaze me what the ever increasing materialistic arrogance of some humans (not you, BTW) beget in the name of science & in the way of governmental oppression in what started out as a yearning of humans for a free society. More on that later in group threefold society

I think i do.  The veracity of the Global Warming Proposition has very little to do with my own personal attitude.  Adapting to peak oil, freeing our dependance on the ME, and the cultural and economic oppurtunities of a green bubble where our entire infrastructre gets retooled are my driving motivations.

I'll wait for hyperlinks to the data published in scientific journals and the subsequent analysis by climate scientist before i hyperventilate.  Things go up ... thing go down ... a one year drop in some temperatures may not mean all that very much ... the price of oil fell .50 this morning off its all time high yesterday ... is that a trend?  ... is it on its way down now? Personally it feels to me that it is getting colder ... but that kind of measurement is, like you have said, all about where you stick the thermometer.  Me i'll keep turning to scientists to ground my beliefs and not the first article on the internet that sounds sensational.  But thanks for pointing this out ... i'll keep my eyes open about it.

I have not heard of anyone proposing to throw away this data point.  But because we are so close to it we must see it now as just a fluxuation. 

Let's face it ... it it gets warmer I am going to take that as confirmation of my belief that humans are causeing a problem that they can fix ... it it gets colder you are going to take that as confirmation of your belief that God is in controlling the Earth (perhaps through sun spots).  People keep believing what they want to believe.  Same as it always way ... same as it always was.
