I don't think anyone considers forcing someone to have what I might like is part of the golen rule, but the above discusses the nuance in some amount.

Had you actually looked at you might not have asked such a question. Try summarizing Aristotle, Plato, ..... all in a short few sentences & get back to me. One of the first few items of interest on speaking to people has the notions of Ethos, Pathos & Logos  as a fundamental triad.  It shows up in the politics of the day. Obam is primarily Pathos - appeals to the emotions.  Logos on Ebola is not forthcoming nor in most of the stuff coming out of the federal government.  The whole compaign issues are one of Ethos - does the person speaking have the moral authority for the words he says? Today's politicians mostly don't.  THey just say the words they think will get them elected.
This treasure box is beyond all that though.
